Eldest of Fingolfin's children, who inherited the Kingship of the Noldor after his father was slain by Morgoth. As High King, he commanded the assault upon Morgoth that became known as the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, the Unnumbered Tears, and in that assault he was himself slain by Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs.
