Zangelis is a mercenary swordsman who has crossed paths with the group before. He's finally accepted the fact that Gourry is a better swordsman than he is, and so has decided to join the group to learn from him. He'll soon be frustrated when Gourry proves unable to teach him anything (due to lack of anything resembling intelligence)
