Mr. Newman's duties in the office have carried over to the team. Mr. Newman oversees the teams finances, and he counts every penny trying to make the team as fiscally efficient as possible.
Many people on the team dislike him because he is seen as a tight-wad, attempting to spare every expense, from buying cheaper (and lower quality) uniforms and equipment to refusing to hire quality groundskeepers for the team's home stadium. It can't be argued that he does his job effectively, however--since taking the position on the team, the team's debts have fallen dramatically. With a good season or two in the books, they'll finally be out of the red!
