During try-outs Finn was quickly identified as prime thrower material. He had both the strong arm and keen eye that spelled potential. In addition, being of the Gravelstone Zacharias', he was the grand-nephew of the sister-in-law of the Countess' aunt.
Translation: his family was loaded.
This difference in class caused some upsets in the beginning, but in the early games, Finn proved that he wasn't scared of getting his hands dirty. Slowly but surely, good old-fashioned team spirit overcame class distinction and privilege and he was accepted as one of the boys.
Unfortunately, it was also this tendency to get stuck in that led to his untimely demise. As he lay in the grass with a broken neck, his last words were, "tell coach, 'every thrower has to leave the pocket sometime'."
With his dying breath, Finn showed everyone that your position in society is not nearly as important as your position on the team.
