P [S] Pygmy

These pygmies are quite astonishing creatures. They have developed over time an fascinating affinity for the meat of a pig - in fact, it is worshipped as sacred by the religious leaders among this small band of pygmies. Some have been known to turn violent with rage when deprived of their pig meat, and their famous warcry of "Pig Me!" can be heard up to 5 miles away when the adrenilin rush of feeding frenzy begins.

When a young aspiring prince set eyes upon this small tribe, he spied upon them - captivated by their obsession with the sweet juicy meat. He noted the impressive speed and leaping abilities of those resembling an eagle, the toughness and resistance to injury of the pygmies resembling alligators, and the hunting skills of the rest of the tribe members, particularly the leaders; with their ability to stalk and then swiftly deal a fatal blow to their prey with their claws, these pygmies appeared to the prince to look and behave like jaguars.

Ambitious as he was, the prince was not above tricking these pygmies in order to use them for his own purposes. He had recently learnt and mastered the ancient art of Bloodbowl, so he decided that he would train these pygmies so that they may perform for him on the field of battle and bring him honour and reputation.

He lay a cunning little trap, using a dead pig that he had previously planned on having for dinner. However, before long something happened that surprised him: two lumbering Kroxigors stumbled out, attracted by the scent of fresh pig. Knowing of the Kroxigors from viewing Lizardmen teams play in Bloodbowl competitions back in his homeland, and remembering how they were bodyguards to the small skinks, the prince guessed that these Kroxigors were bodyguards to the pygmies back in the camp.

After the successful capture of the Kroxes, they began to scream wildly, alerting the pygmies to the presence of danger. One particular search party, sent to investigate, happened to walk right into the prince's trap, and suddenly the prince had his team of twelve players, with a healthy mix of all of the creatures he had observed earlier.

He returned home with his prisoners and evilly imprisoned them in his dungeons for weeks, starving them of pig. When the pygmies finally began to break and collapse from hunger, he came to them and blackmailed them - if they would agree to play Bloodbowl for him, he would reward them with pigs - one pig per every 5 matches played, and one pig per every touchdown, interception or casualty causing a niggle, stat drop or kill.

Wild and hungry as they were, the pygmies were relatively difficult to train up into shape. Finally, once the prince thought they were ready, he sent out his best 11, seeking fame and glory on the backs of their performances, with the promise of plenty of pigs should they excel ...
