The Cobwebs are the finest players taken from Darkwood, mainly from the formerly-rival Clans Grimsqueek and Wolfpelt. The Grimsqueeks' patriarch, 'Poppa' Grimsqueek, led an exodus of greenskins, fresh from the training glades of Darkwood, across the rolling miles that lay between their ancient home and the BloodBowl arenas.

The reason for their epic voyage? A summons from Graf Boris Todbringer, delivered by messenger eagle, to compete in his Grand Tournament, against the cream of the Old World's Blood Bowl teams. 'Poppa' had heard of such championships, news of which had passed slowly through the land, whispers on the wind, carried by fairies, bats, eagles and the occasional skaven that was foolhardy enough to stray into Darkwood. So, he had a couple of trolls, gambolling free in their native environment, trapped and broken in to suit their needs, and drilled in the art of throwing goblins, thanks to hours of practice and being given treats if they managed to pick up green-painted straw practice dummies without eating them.

While Clan Wolfpelt are happy to follow 'Poppa's direction as long as the team is winning, if results don't go their way, then there may well be a schism within... As Wolfpelt have access to chainsaws and the most deadly of fungal poisons, 'Poppa' is keen to keep them onside... Will he be successful? Will the team manage to realise its potential, or will the players be ground into green paste by the pride of the Old World's other races?
