Green Bay Emus

The Green Bay Emus were founded on September 12th of 2005.

They originate from Green Bay, so called because it is constantly infested with Goblins. Guarded by an almost impenentrable Troll Pass, the Green Bay became a summer holiday resort of sorts for many Goblins who were tired of the ongoing struggle between the forces of Good & Evil. All these diminutative greenskins wanted to do was relax and have some fun, without having to worry about some war going on somewhere.

Then one cool autumn night, the half-goblin pirate Micky Da Hook docked his corsair in the Green Bay docks. Aboard his ship were to Blood Bowl teams - "The Olmec Dragons", a Lizardmen team from the distant Lustria, and a Goblin team which called itself "Greens Die Better".

Within the sleepy town of Green Bay, the two teams created a makeshift pitch by night. The next day, the denizens of Green Bay rose to the sounds of a game of Blood Bowl.

The game was an exciting one. Troll players threw their goblin teammates high into the sky with astounding success at first, but with disasterous results afterwards. Still it was an inspiring sight and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The people of Green Bay were inspired and Micky Da Hook was convinced to put port permanently in Green Bay and create and coach his own Goblin Team. So the Emus were born.

The team's namesake comes from the extinct flightless(and certainly comical-looking) bird, The Emu. Clever minds may read a lot into this and how it relates to the team's style of play.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
1st Game - Genghis the Hungry succesfully throws Snagga Da Scythe in T16 to tie up the game.

2nd Game - Hired Star Nobbla Blackwart niggles the ghoul Raldo early into the game. Opposing team decided to retire his team after the defeat at the hands of the Emus. First clean sheet for the Emus.

3rd Game - The Emus are finally able to cause their first two casualties (unaided by Hired Stars). Another T16 touchdown wins the game.

4th Game - An all time high 4-0 victory over a super front-loaded chaos team. Crick the Grunt, however, becomes the first ever casualty of the Emus.

5th Game - A 2-1 victory for the Emus. Another successful "throw the gobbo play" converts itself into a touchdown. The team however loses Niggla da Prod and 2 other team members will be missing for the next game.

6th Game - A 1-1 draw. Amazons proved to be a tough team to face for the Emus. Coach Micky was heard grumbling about the trolls' tossing skills as he left the stadium. Yet another gobbo bites the dust making it three dead goblins in a row for the Emus.

7th Game - The Emu's unbeaten streak finally grinds to a halt in their seventh match. Coach Micky exclaimed that everything that could go wrong did. Still at least no goblins died on the field this time - though a few might not make it out of the locker room...
