14th April 2006 - The team is formed, with old hands Hunker Tugtooth and Fickle Shicklesnip drafted in to add experience. 29th April 2006 - Blitzer Blaark Fistface leaves the team, to be replaced by rookie Minotaur running back Lunchbox. The team's gate receipts begin to pick up. 5th May 2006 - A shocking 0-7 defeat against the underestimated Orcs of Bocksed Cleva. The team is low on morale, and the death of promising lineman Retch Flukefinger puts a further dampener on proceedings. A 1-5 defeat against arch rivals Ninjalicious does nothing to halt the slide. 23rd Sept 2006 - A man-of-the match performance from Hunker Tugtooth suggests that his all-round game is coming on leaps and bounds in the twilight of his career. 29th December 2006 - The Hoof's finest victory: a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing of the Hendon Park Allstars. 9th Jan 2007 - Shicklesnip records the fifth casualty of his career against the shambling horde of Winter Guard, underlining his importance to the team. Lunchbox also opens his scoring account for Hoof it, blitzing into the endzone and receiving Shicklesnip's pass. 11th Feb 2007 - The Hoof win 2-0 against the Bridge Court Supermeisters, with Lunchbox scoring twice. Fans are soon seen sporting his name on the backs of their shirts. 8th October 2008 - Hoof it are caught cold by the outstanding natural talents of No Room for Anklebiters. They lose 0-4 despite strong running from Lunchbox, and are undone by the sublime skills of Giant Gonzales, the dwarf blitzer. 8th Nov 2008 - When long standing injuries cause both Tugtooth and Shicklesnip to miss the game against Charlies World - a valiant 0-1 loss - the pair announce that they will retire as soon as suitable replacements are found. Pundits welcome the decision, as many have felt for some time that young talents such as Lunchbox, Flinty Hoofscratch and the pacy Burgle Passagepump should be handed the baton. 16th November 2008 - Despite being caught cold in the opening minutes by much fancied High Elves Generation de Feu, Hoof it manage to break the game up and force errors. Lunchbox is unlucky not to equalise in the first half, but he caps a titanic effort in the dying minutes of the second. Staggering downfield for the entire half, with elves hanging off every limb. He claims his 5th touchdown, to complete a mature performance and emerge victorious from his personal duel with towering Generation free safety Irving Berlin. |
