The descendants of the original Short Stoppers' manager found the deed to the name and rights to the sigil of the old team in their forebear's archives, and decided to try and revive the old team. Unfortunately, due to NAF naming rules no two teams may be registered with the exact same name in order to avoid statistical confusion. However, they were allowed to use the old team crest.

Hopes are high for the newly assembled team, as the new owners even managed to recruit the descendants of some members of the original team.

Onwards, now, to restore the name to its former glory!

The game of Blood Bowl is tough at the best of times, as our friend Gamlon Bloodforge has learned the hard way. He cracked his skull in a spectacular show of stupidity against some strange southern lasses, removing his helmet to bow in the midst of a match! The physicians have inspected the damage, and he's been forced to leave the pitch for good. He will, however, remain part of the team in the role of assistant coach. We don't abandon our friends quite so lightly, however stupid they may sometimes be.

Also, join us in welcoming a new addition to our strength, Thorfang Wildflail, great grandson of Hlevang Wildflail, who played in the original Short Stoppers lineup. He's been bothering us ever since the team was formed, but until yesterday he was too young according to NAF rules. Nothing stands in his way now.

This is a black day for the Short Stoppers. Dvalad Goldknuckle has made the ultimate sacrifice on the pitch, in service of the team, of his friends, in an incredibly bloody match against a band of Khemri. Never before has the team suffered such a beating! Yet in spite of this grim fact, we still managed to win the game, and this shall serve as a reminder both for us and for our opponents, that even when fewer in number, with sheer determination you can do great things.

There is good news this day as well, however overshadowed by our immense grief it may be. Our assistant coach, retired Longbeard, Gamlon Bloodforge, has found a promising young 'beard to join our team: his cousin, Bombur Bloodforge. He's already been introduced to the boys, and will join us in practice starting tomorrow. Tonight we shall grieve, and toast the memory of Dvalad, but tomorrow will see the team back in practice, all the more profoundly bound together by their shared experiences.

Thror's unfortunate situation is also uncertain. While the injury is very serious, it should heal well, but the doctors fear it may affect his mobility. We'll just have to see how he manages once he gets permission to play again.

It has not been an easy road for the Stoppers, so far. Ever since Dvalad's death, the team hasn't been able to reach the intensity they started out with. They seem to be in a bit of a rut lately and the building frustration, when combined with increasingly frequent serious injuries, hasn't exactly helped. But the last game, against the Necromantic team Gente Muerta, gave everyone a glimpse of old-school Stoppers, everyone pulling together as a solid team to make the plays. So despite the death of another friend, Nori Thunderstone, who had only recently joined the team, and despite the fact that the match was lost, we look to the future with renewed hope of true growth and progress.

We believe we're back on the road to glory.

Thror Stonewall has decided to leave the pitch to those fleeter of foot, and has instead taken the post of assistant coach to his old friends. The regret was apparent on his face as he told us, but he felt he was holding the team back, and that this was the only reasonable solution. He'll still be around, giving everyone a hard time at practice, and spouting abuse in the dugout, though, so not that much will really be different.

A few newcomers have also joined the team, namely the brothers Fjalar and Draupnir Hammerhand. Fjalar already put in an appearance against Darkness, Inc, immeadiately getting well into the swing of things, while his brother's paperwork took a bit longer to pass through the NAF bureaucracy. They will both be taking their place on the pitch in the next game.

Our trials, it seems, are far from over. Just as the team was at the height of their strength, to be torn asunder so brutally is a strange kind of justice, if justice it be. How cold the comfort of impartial Nuffle can feel! Today, the Stoppers bid farewell to two of their dearest friends. Both met their end in the most honourable way imaginable, fighting a brutal opponent far stronger than themselves. No greater glory could fate lay on a dwarf's shoulders. All the deeper the regret, then, when that glory crushes the life out of its bearer. We must try to remember our lost brothers, and honour that memory. And the best way to do that is to keep going, keep fighting, and not let our grief consume us. We must live as they would have lived, fight as they would have fought, and take heart in the knowledge that they themselves would do the same were they still here.

Rest now, brothers, and mourn your lost comrades - tomorrow we must resume our practice, and find ways to fill the void left by Halfor and Nali if we are to have any hope of future victories. It will not be easy, for any of us, but we MUST NOT GIVE UP. We MUST NOT GIVE IN to the grief. We will NOT lose heart. Instead we will honour the memory of our fallen brothers, and fight as they did, as they would do, as they would wish us to.
