Roster [R] Shambling Undead

Dr. A. Heart was a keen follower of Sunday League Bloodbowl, in fact you could say he was something of an anorak! He watched all the games he could, watched the training, in fact he lived and breathed only for his Sundays.

One dark and stormy night, he was in a bar on Friday night, depressed as there were still two days before he could see his beloved team play again when he overheard a strange, hooded and cloaked figure on the table next to him mention to his companion that he was a necromancer "of no little skill".

This intrigued Dr. Heart who struck up a conversation with the hooded figure and enquired whether if he could come up with some bodies the fellow could transform them into an unbeatable and undead Blood Bowl team. Somewhat taken aback the hooded figure said yes and Dr. Hart could then follow his long held dream of coaching a major league Blood Bowl Team.

So, off Dr. Heart went and started digging up the graves of the finest, the creme de la creme of deceased Sunday League Blood Bowl players. He ordered a uniform for them in a bright yellow and black colour and arranged to meet the dark stranger again and he delivered the corpses of the (previously) star players for re-animation to once again deliver victory for their new coach on the Blood Bowl field.

There was however a problem .....

Whilst Dr. Heart overheard "no little skill", he actually should have heard the stranger talking about his first ever necromancy lessons and that he actually had "a little skill".

As a result Dr. Heart was soon the manager of a team of undead Blood Bowl Star Sunday League players .... who now were unfortunately all Zombies!!!!

Oh, well thought Dr. Heart, I've spent the money on the team's uniforms and on the League Registration Fee, and I have watched a lot of Sunday League matches, I must be one of the greatest ever coaches now, I can overcome this problem.

So, 28 Plays Later were "born" (again)! Named after their first coaching session which involved a new trick play - picking up a ball which was lying still on the ground .... which was achieved by the team captain after a mere 28 attempts.

For some reason, the fans turn up to watch (and laugh) and maybe they will one day win a game ...... maybe one day they will actually pick up the ball .....
