The Face Blottaz were originally formed as a squad of incorporeal undead called the Damp Tea Towels, who managed an awe-inspiring string of 186 consecutive scoreless losses in the Nibelheim Fringe League over their first four seasons. The ghosts who made up the team had little else to do but play Blood Bowl, and some of the retired members of that original team still hold league records for most appearances in a single season.

After the fourth winless season, the general manager chose to sell up and move on, and the club was purchased by an enterprising young Ork by the name of Cringethrottle Slambubbles. Cringethrottle thought that having ghosts on the pitch was a great idea, hampered only by the ghosts' inability to pick up the ball--which he rectified by filling half the squad with tough-as-nails, heavily-armored Orks. This half-Ork, half-ghost squad managed to improve its record by frightening its opponents enough to clear the pitch for the tough Orks to take control of the ball and score a touchdown here and there.

Unfortunately, after a few seasons of this the roster had all but emptied of the undead, most of whom had been dark elves or chaos warriors in life and who looked down their intangible noses at sharing the pitch with a bunch of smelly greenskins, and so they chose to transfer out or to retire as the seasons passed.

Cringethrottle, facing no other alternative but to resort to the traditional Ork/Goblin/Troll model of greenskin roster building, rounded out the squad's numbers with the cheapest, meanest mooks he could find, and transferred the club over to the FUMBBL Ranked Division in order to improve the team's profitability. Only time will tell if this was a good idea or not...
