It's been done before, why can't it be done again?!

In the final game of the second Dart Bowl season, an affluent and seasoned veteran tomb robber by the name of Markus Von Ressex sat in the stands, gripped to the edge of his seat. As the final whistle blew, knowing that the Shallow Grave Dwellers completed their season undefeated and without conceding a touchdown, Markus Von Ressex thought to himself "I could do this even better!"

So with his plundered riches, Markus Von Ressex swaggered onto the pitch, soapbox in hand and decreed that he was going to be setting up a rival team to the Shallow Grave Dwellers, to compete in the third season of the Dart Bowl!

Markus's first appointment was for a necromancer to manage the team. Markus couldn't turn to Willfrig, as his appointment at the Shallow Grave Dwellers was locked into contractual obligation due to the team winning the league.

Markus turned to the young pretender from the north. Kislev born necromancer Igor Dray, whose Bloodbowl career typically resided as assistant manager at Undead teams across the KCL (Kislev & Chaos Leagues).

Igor's ability not to shy away from the press and his uncanny ability to spew utter nonsense after the games riled other managers.

Igor's first task was to hire the muscle of the team - the two mummies. His experience of big hitters was limited to Flesh Golems, so required some knowledge from Markus von Ressex. Markus knew there was a previous, championship winning team of Khemri, The Egyptian Disco and inquired as to whether any players were available for transfer.

Two mummies by the names of Janice Marie Johnson and Carlita Dorhan on the reserve team were available; these two ladies had issues with training and giving effort and enjoyed the spotlight of celebrity status more than playing.

Regardless, Markus Von Ressex and Igor agreed that the two mummies would turn good with the right encouragement....a pile of gold.

Igor then turned to the teams ability to score. For this, Igor required the help of some ghouls. Igor returned to Kislev (Janice and Carlita refused to travel with him; the ladies don't like the cold) to scout his former teams who train in the gardens of Morr in Kislev.

Igor rested upon two ghouls;
Radislav Korvek of the Erengrad Eagles
Vladimir Klaw of the Gorovny Griffons

With the ghouls in tow and returned to base camp, Igor traveled back to the empire, as Markus suggested some local blood (or lack of) would inspire the local fans to support the Shallow Tomb Robbers.

He scouted in several key cities teams to look for appropriate candidates. In these towns he found his Wights.

In a bold move he found Peg Legged Pete; the younger brother of Peg Legged Jim, the Undead darling of the Shallow Grave Dwellers and former player of the Marienburg Dregs. This has proven to be the positive effect that Markus wanted, as the Shallow Grave Dwellers are not best pleased with this move, most notably, Peg Legged Jim.

Igor's second purchase was Heinrich Parr, from the Nuln Tinkerers; a human blitzer in his former life, he was fatally wounded in a training session and buried in a garden of Morr. Igor regenerated him, glady too, as Heinrich had a dinner date with his wife after the training session. His wife now resides in bedlam after seeing her husband. ressurected. and decayed.

For the final pieces of the puzzle, Igor enlisted the services of Janice and Carlita. Rumour was spreading throughout the empire that Igor was travelling to gardens of Morr, recruiting and disturbing the departed souls of the Old World.

When the team arrived at the Gardens of Morr in the upper levels of Talabheim, the team met a protest by Morr priests. Igor turned his back as Janice and Carlita beat the stuffing out of them and resulted in a bloody mess at the gates. Igor used his dark magic to raise the 5 priests of Morr as his zombies.

To business then! The team is ready, the tactics are set, funded by Markus Von Ressex, the Shallow Tomb Robbers are willing to prove their cross-town rivals that their success wasn't a flash in the pan!
