All across the Old World, battles have been fought, blood has been spilled; and the dead, whether victor or victim, are long forgotten, are left to rot. Here, the Redcaps thrive. No one knows where they come, some say they're a demented mutated variant of the thrice damned chaos dwarfs, others say they're a fusion of greenskin and elves, and some dare to whisper they are the chaos dwarf equivalent for the gnomes (although it is best not to mention that). Whatever they are, they are a menace wherever they pop up. From shadows, holes and cracks in the earth itself, they creep forth, dipping their namesake in the blood of the fallen, gaining the power of the precious spilled life force. Using this new found strength, they spill forth from their scabrous lairs, to plague the civilized lands. Yes, truly they are plague upon this land... You know, if anyone fought wars anymore. Ever since the rediscovery of Blood bowl, the races have grown peaceful (as much as they can be) and now play the Greatest Game, rather than participate in the nasty (and above all boring) business of war. This has left the Redcaps with nothing to do, no crippled victims to torture, no new scrap to find, and above all no BLOOD. At least, not on the old battlefields. Thus the Redcaps have gathered their best looted armor, their strongest scavengers and donned their best hats and taken to new the fields of conflict. Hopefully they won't get thrashed too handily... |
