Hewstone Howlers
Roster [R] Necromantic Horror

Hewstone was a quiet mining town established in the shoulder of a pair of craggy mountains and flanked by a gnarled, elder wood forest. It was a quiet community with little going for it but its export of strong stone blocks and raw non-precious ores. Until the miners dug too deep and encountered a stone door encrusted with sigils. No one knows who struck the blow that cracked the stone block and broke the runic seal, but the minors release a shadowy, sinister presence that day.

Afterwards, the townsfolk witnessed swirling clouds of green magic and bolts of blue and purple lightning striking the highest spires. The forest grew dank and a thick miasma filled it. Howls emanated from the mountains. Then the grave robberies began.

The townsfolk lived in terror of the castle and forest and what might come out of it. No one entered the evil place. Nothing came out. Until it did.

One evening, a late cart of stone from the quarry watched as shambling corpses, hunched cannibals and towering, patchwork mounds of flesh and muscle emerged from the poisonous fog swirling around the trunks of the gnarled trees. At its head was a robed figure who demanded to speak to the mayor.

The terror stricken mayor approached with his sheriff and a few of the town watch. When asked what the shadowy figure wanted, it replied in a whispering, feminine voice, "I want to build a Blood Bowl stadium."

Now lead by Erik Blackhowl, formerly Sableshanks and son of the current Mayoral family, the Hewstone Howlers have become a piece of pride, and terror, for the small mining town, having put them on the map.
