| I will tell you right now that I will be playing a 3-4 defense, using the blitzers as the four linebackers. It's part of my experiement to use football philosophy in Blood Bowl. Too many times I see people playing with 5, 6, and 7 players on the defensive line of scrimmage, and it invariably fails. The quarterback reads blitz and gets rid of the ball quickly. By setting up in the 3-4 I use a variety of blitz looks, none of which are readable at the onset. Early on I met with a lot of success using this tactic, my only lose being a result of a double 1 on a go-for-it, on a man who was essentially uncovered. Placing blitzers behind the line let them plug the holes very effectively, and the opposing linemen couldn't get away. It often stranded the catchers by themselves, where they were mowed down with ease. My current problem is the 3. I've developed too many backfield players, and not enough linemen. I always have to choose between putting the Ag4 blodger on, or the Ma7 passer. And I waste my talent by putting 2 grunts on the line, and not using my skilled players for fear of injury. |
