The Bogenhafen Gallants were created as a response to the growing popularity of the Blood Bowl sport around the Empire. The sponsors looked to great human teams like the Reikland Reavers, the Altdorf Imperials and the Kislev Polarbears and they thought: We can do that! Just imagine the tourists and the tradeboom! Several months and dozens of games later it was evident that they had indeed done it. Unfortunately what they had done was creating a team based on impressive appearances and not much else. No other team in the league looked as good losing, and losing, and losing and losing. When the turn came for Bögenhafen to host the cup, the home team lost every single game, much to the disgust of the home crowd and sponsors alike. The revenues did not even pay the wages for the entire team and the popularity was at an all time low, especially among the players families (it´s one thing when the team loses all their matches away, it can be anyones fault but when you actually see the way the team plays....). The more thrifty among the sponsors came up with the idea to sell shirts and flags with the slogan "Kill them, Kill the worthless Wankers!" to be sold outside the stadium at every match the Gallants played. This turned out to be a screaming hit. One of the Gallants players went on record as saying: They´re right, you know. They should kill us all. We´re that bad. The second season saw a slight upswing for the battered players of the Gallants. More goals were scored and one match was even won! This has caused several hard-core fans to abandon the team in disgust, since a win most definitely did not measure up to their expectations. The Nucleus of the team, in spite of the loss of star Pretty Günther, now boasts a few seasoned veterans of the Blood Bowl arena. They are ready to face any opponent under any circumstances. Provided the cameras are set in the right angles, of course... The third season was not a really uplifting one. Winning but two games; the fans were pleased, so were the sponsor but one man was not too happy at all: The head coach. His plans were shot down by drunk players, hung-over players, frenzied players and incontinent players. The fans didn´t help much either. They cheered at the fumbles, they applauded when the home team got beaten up and they threw bricks and molotov cocktails at the coach himself as he tried to boost the morale of the team. This, of course, set its mark on the players, who reveled in their notoriety and incompetence. Grinning like clownish retards, they dropped the ball on purpose, groinstomped opponents after calling for the attention of the referee and so on and so forth. As the fourth season comes knocking, the head coach is in tears. A new plan and new tactics has been drawn up and if the rampant substance abuse in the team doesn´t stop success from showing up, then the weather probably will. As predicted, the fourth season wasn´t a great success for the Gallants. After being forced to drop out of the league due to the fact that the head coach ended up in a coma after being attacked by hostile technology in a freak thunderstorm, the emergency meeting among the players and assistant coaches landed most of the team in the hospital or in jail. The season was over for the Gallants. Now the noble Gallants are back, though, for the sixth season of the cup, eager and willing to duke it out with the opposition. The head coach has woken up, some of the players have been to the practice sessions, the assistant coaches are no longer alcoholics and the stadium is freshly painted. What could possibly go wrong now?
