Team History Even before the first cities in 'Murica were chosen to host Major League Soccer teams, Seattle was considered a viable location for a professional team. However, despite the strong soccer fan base in Seattle, the absence of a soccer-only stadium was a drawback to establishing an MLS team. After a mutual agreement with the Seattle Seaorks to use their home stadium - the CenturyLiz Field (formerly named Quetzal Field) - the Seattle Pounders FC finally began to play in the 2514 season. Third place was enough to qualify for the playoffs, which Seattle managed to win against LA Galaxy. Subsequently, they were victorious over Europe-based FC Kaiserslaughtering, bringing the OBBA Intercontinental Cup to the Americas. Season 21 Results before playoffs: 2W-0T-1L Right when we thought we could not beat the number of missed and cancelled matches of Season 20. With minimum effort, the Pounders made it into the playoffs, to again beat the notorious Vancouver Wight Walkers. And then to be crushed by Houston Dynamo Rats in the final. Season 22 Results before playoffs: 4W-3T-0L Once more first place with an undefeated record in the pre-playoff season, even sweeter with a fortunate 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo Rats. Unfortunately, the Horned One and Nuffle united in the first playoff match, and the Pounders were kicked out again by the very same Skaven team. Season 23 Results before playoffs: 8W-0T-0L After an immaculate season with eight wins (one match could not be played due to time constraints, though), the Pounders made it once again into the playoff final, to lose against the Milan Gladiators. Severe coaching mistakes resulted in an 1-2 loss. As a consequence, team manager Pip Gladiola was ritually sacrificed and will be replaced by a yet to be announced successor. Season 24 Results before playoffs: 5W-1T-1L Following a strong season with only one loss against the Milan Gladiators (which broke a regular-season streak of whopping undefeated 21 matches!), the Pounders finally managed to bring home the cup again. An exciting final against the Vancouver White Walkers ended with a close 2-1 victory after overtime. Season 25 Results before playoffs: 6W-1T-1L A solid season with only one loss and one draw led the Pounders straight into the play-offs, where they lost to the later champions of both death and season 25, the Columbus Death Crew. After this defeat, the Pounders decided to take a well-earned break and tour the Auld World for exhibition matches. Their place in the league was taken over by the newly formed Colorado Rabids.
