The Mystery

Many across the Old World didn't know whether Gnomes really existed. Perhaps only the locals in the duchies bordering the Mirror Moors and nearby the Midden Marshes would recognise the odd diminutive pedlar or wandering illusionist seeking a few coin.

Be they real or myth, tales of gnomes circulated around the cities, townships and halmets but none agree about their origins or intent.

There is though one common recurring theme in these stories. That Gnomes take initimate trophies from those they best. What for remains contested. Secretive engineering and scientific trials? The darks arts of the Grey Wind of Magic? Strange perversions? Self-amusement?

When news broke of a Gnome BloodBowl team many laughed. What were they going to do? Dance a funny jig and try and snag a Minotaur with a fishing rod?

When it was when it was announced the team would be sponsored by the corporate giant UCG - Universal Consumer Goods then people started to really take an interest....

But they hate everyone and everything else more, just enough to unite a few clans to go and punch some greenskins.

Cudgelfish hates everyone the most and was duly put in charge of this uneasy alliance.

The only instruction was to "bring back that which we require!"
