First match played March 7, 2024. A 1-0 victory over the Black Gulf Privateers in Old World Rookie Rumble #21.

The Blue Isle Mariners are a fraternal group of sea elves who have spent years in their trade of seafaring exploits. With a home port located in the distant Blue Isle, their ilk includes primarily crew, but some of the sailors engage in trade and occasionally craftsmanship as well. Lineman Vernon Jayne has been known to correct nicks and dints in the team's plate armor at local forges every so often. And Catcher Georgea Narissa is an esteemed polyglot, who can spin the finest High Elven poetry as well as spit the tooth-grime lyrics of a Goblin drinking song with studious know-how.

The Mariners are coached by Zach Kochenberger, longtime associate of coach fivehead, who is for the first time breaking into a head coaching role with the squad. In fivehead's recent scouting and training efforts, he encountered the rowdy yet refined band of elves at a seaport a half-day's journey from Ilkingdale. Impressed by their strength, he saw an opportunity for expansion. He dug deep into his coffers and financed a single-season contract for the Mariners, and appointed Kochenberger as head coach.

The Elves begin their season in the Old World Rookie Rumble tournament, giving Kochenberger ample pressure to work well with a squad that is all his own. Practices commenced shortly, and the 11-player crew won their first match in a war of attrition against the hearty coach Nightbird to advance in their inaugural tournament.

Typically quite nomadic, the sea elves have altered pace slightly in preparation for their season-sprint in affiliation with Kochenberger. Their trusted ship, the Sapphire is still crewed by other affiliated elves, and when stops are made near Ilkingdale the team regroups with their crew, travelling with them if necessary.
