"You cannot be serious, Lord Eclonis. This... This is madness!"

Eclonis sat in his black wood chair and smiled up at the young elf across the room from him. It was easy to count the four teeth he was missing, a small price to pay for a long and storied Blood Bowl career. His voice was gravel, his eyes still burning with the fire that had made him a survivor, a battler from the beginning, regardless of odds. Eclonis Darkshadow had seen and survived it all, but his eyes told the story of how he wanted more, more carnage, more pain, more suffering. "It may be madness indeed. But it isn't a madness new to this team or to me. We have plunged into this fray before and we have survived. We will do so again."

The young elf, trying to hide his terrified face in the shadows, eyed the grizzled veteran with apprehension. He had already said to much, Eclonis could technically kill him at any moment and be well within the rules that governed Dark Elf society. But the young one only saw death on any path that he could choose, so he continued to speak much more boldly than he would have normally. "But Lord Eclonis, we are not prepared for such a brutal schedule. We struggle even against our most weak and pathetic cousins. How will we survive the burtality of... Of Dwarves or Khemri?"

The smile of Eclonis widened. "You may not. I may not. But some will. And they will rebuild. And they will move on. This team was borne in the fires of Hell, and I intend fully to return us there. The weak and soft will die, the strong and powerful will live. And the Shadow Peak Pillagers will move on. With or without us. If you wish to survive, you should start learning how to kill right now. Only by destroying the things you fear will you ensure your own survival."

"I... Of course. But if you are doing this only because you wish to die gloriously on the pitch-"

"That, young one, is precisely what I intend. And you, nor anyone else, shall deny me my wish. Try to stand in my way. Try."

The fire in the eyes of the veteran was different now, a challenge to the young elf. He could stop all of this right now, he could prevent the deaths of he and his friends, all he had to do was kill Eclonis, who just gave him the invitation to try. But he hung his head in shame, knowing that try is all he would ever get to do. Eclonis, old and broken, was more than a match for him. Eclonis would kill him without getting out of his chair. The young elf backed out of the room, wordlessly conceding to the old elf's will.

The Pillagers would go through another E.L.F. season, and if they were lucky, they would survive once more.

No. I refuse to retire this team merely because of the fact that I am a crappy coach. The Pillagers just might be the longest living and most lovable band of perpetual losers on FUMBBL, and I refuse to let them go just because I cannot make them win.

She never let her injured knee stop her from contributing, and her amazing agility and leaping abilities more than made up for her slower movement.

She retired to do private security work for Dark Elf nobles.

He leads the Pillagers in all-time interceptions, is second in completions. He was the definition of the Pillagers playing style, more flash than bash.

She retired after aging a niggle, never having been bested on the Blood Bowl pitch.

<a href=http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=1840454>Galaran Firebrand</a>: Once the biggest star in Pillagers history, Firebrand's flashy, risky style brought him great success on the pitch, as he led the Pillagers in touchdowns, SPPs, and was the first Pillager to reach 100 SPPs.

He finally met his master on the pitch: Himself, as he died tripping while going for it with a reroll. It was the only time in his career that he was quieted or humbled in his fifty games.
