Created for Wanna Be a Stunty Star? tourney #2 <td align="left">These <u>neurosurgeons</u> have undergone <u>a rigorous training program</u> consisting of 6-7 years post-graduate study after medical school. They sure know how to treat <u>stunty players</u> suffering from <u>neurosurgical conditions</u>, including primarily brain and spinal cord disorders. The main field of study for this team is <b>brain ablation</b>. Ablation is defined as the removal of material from the surface of an object by vaporization, chipping, or other erosive processes. Often used in the context of laser ablation, a process by which the molecular bonds of a material are dissolved by a laser. In medicine, ablation is the same as removal of a part of biological tissue, usually by surgery. Surface ablation in the skin (also called resurfacing, because it induces regeneration) can be carried out by chemicals (peeling) or by lasers. In the case of our team, however, we will carry out the methods on the pitch using either <u>standard, sterile surgery knifves</u> or, more usually, <b>sharp teeth</b>. If any of our players finds <u>an opponent suffering from</u> a demyelinating disease or any other kind of <u>brain damage</u>, we will be more than happy to claim the victim...ermm...patient <b>brain dead</b> and write out <b>a death certificate</b>. A death certificate is a document issued by a government official, such as the blood bowl league chairman, that declares the date, location and cause of a person's death. Each governmental jurisdiction prescribes the form of the document for use in its purview and the procedures necessary to legally produce it. One purpose of the certificate is to review the cause of death to determine if <u>fouling</u> occurred. During a Blood Bowl-match, <u>the referee</u> may require a certificate from a physician or coroner to validate the cause of death. <u>In cases where it is not completely clear that a person is dead</u> (usually because their body has been kicked unconscious while lying on the ground), <u>a neurologist from our team is often called in to verify brain death and to fill out the appropriate documentation.</u> |
