The Hardest Drinking Elven Team in Blood Bowl

They can’t pass/leap and catch like normal wood elves. Their games are not poetry in motion, but they love to drink they love to fight and generally behave as little like a Wood Elf as possible. This is their story……..

Kal Hardrunner was an elven warrior of considerable repute, a renowned leader revered and respected by the Wood Elves of South Down; he had led his brethren with considerable aplomb in many battles. The majority of these battles had been against an amalgamation of Goblin tribes who had constantly sniped at the South Down borders for many decades. Kal had manoeuvred his armies in position to envelop these tribes and a climatic battle ensued in which the Wood Elves were victorious.

After his Wood Elf brigade had defeated the Goblin horde, Kal got word that the leaders of the horde had taken flight to Kalash mountain so he pursued them intent on revenge. The fighting in the mountains was bloody and harsh, the Goblins had recruited dozens of Trolls and they were killing the Elves without mercy. This battle was to be the turning point in Kals life as just at the moment the battle seemed truly lost a troop of dwarven Troll Slayers appeared from nowhere and (against their better nature) saved the remaining elves.

Kal was impressed by this and struck up a decidedly un-elven friendship with this band of slayers. Kal stayed with them for several months and upon his return to the forest he was a very different wood elf. Unfortunately for his brethren he had developed a taste for strong Dwarven ale, and a passion for brewing it. Kal quickly upset his fellow Wood Elves with his new hobby and it was not long before he was expelled from his tribe for numerous debauched indiscretions.

Kal was forced into exile and wondered the world as an outcast for several months; drinking fighting and generally behaving as little like a wood elf as possible. Then he was to come across a tribe of Wood Elves who would prove his salvation. The Wood Elves of South Down had long been shunned by polite elven society for their dwarven social habits and as soon as Kal heard of their existence he found them and began brewing liquor for the only elven Tavern in the galaxy ‘The Sore Orc’ and many a crazed evening was passed there.

It was on such a crazed evening that the South Down Raiders were conceived. A triumphant Dwarf team was celebrating raucously in the tavern and Kal had taken exception to their superiority. A challenge was swiftly uttered and accepted, Kal rounded up his drinking buddies and a dynasty was born……

Kal Hardrunner died leaping over a line rat late in the game against Denebs Texas Hold-Em Skaven. True to his nature it was a rather pointless action which led to his demise team was 4-2 down and it was turn 6 in 2nd half, but the raiders will live on play on and drink on in memory of their deceased founder.
