| Two officers of the Phoenix Guard have been given an exceptional charge. Their ancestors since time immemorial have borne the responsibility of safeguarding the island temple devoted to Asuryan. The task these two are faced with, however, is something neither of them were really prepared for. They have been commanded to assemble from the ranks of nearby garrisons a team of good men to represent the temple in the game of Blood Bowl. After a long and careful screening process, 9 warriors were chosen for the team, and the long training began. The officers are used to directing the way the battle goes, so they became throwers. The rest it was decided would be best to train as linemen, unspecialised but well rounded, the backbone of the team. Like infantry in an army. As a badge of this special service, each member of the team has tattooed a large phoenix on their right arm. <hr>After a tough first match in which Count Silversmile received a serious injury which will force him to sit out the next game, it was decided that a cleric from the temple would accompany from now on in order to protect them from more serious injuries. The second encounter drove home the point already being made in the first game: the Priory need to tighten their training schedule. This means personal sacrifice from all involved with the team, but the honour of Asuryan must rise above all other concerns. With their first victory, the Priory have raised popular interest enough to receive applications from other members of the Guard. A promising young officer particularly skilled in charges has been hired and will train as a blitzer. He is originally of the Dragon Princes of Caledor, but transferred to the Guard after discovering the faith that has always been in his heart. He is a most welcome addition to our team, giving our offense a significant boost. With each passing day, the team is becoming more skilled in the game, and will undoubtedly very soon realise its full potential. Also, another player has joined the roster: Prince Wingshield, who has long been intrigued by the sport of Blood Bowl, feels he has now found a team fitting him. We welcome his skill and talent most heartily. After several games, our dear brother, count Moonspring, has decided to leave the group. He has grown increasingly frustrated with his poor success on the pitch, which has also lead to him having less actual playtime than the others. He believes he would better serve the team as an assistant coach, so the position was created. We are glad the good count has not abandoned us entirely |
