Twenty-eight games into the season, the Firsthill Feast have improved, but that's not saying much given last year's 0-126 record. Still the 5-3-20 record they have has been on the emergence of star quarterback Barley Tolingbell as a fine passer (for someone who has to throw the ball with two hands).

Oakbranch Strongroot has met his untimely end on the pitch, but the First Fans remember the treeman with their commorative mini-bats carried to every game by the faithful (carved from his own trunk, so that in a way he still attends every game). His replacement is Snowstrong Oakenheart, who is making his presence known among opponents, though it's still the iron tree, Longbranch Stoutheart leading the team with five casualties to the treeman's credit.

"Our veteran, Trevor Malikin has teamed up with young Tobory Fallon to supply secondary hitting," explains coack Will of the Moot, "and Young Donny and Sam Plonkin are starting to score on occasion. With Arthur Stonehand now kicking for us, I think we can win a few more games in the future."
