| In a time of crisis, the local government decided to quarantine all who contracted leper inside an abandoned, some say haunted, castle and seal them in. The disease took its course, but something unnatural happened. The lepers died, certainly, but after a time they began moving about again. Some few seem to still have the breath of life in them, but they, too, seemed on the very brink of demise. The appointed guards grew lazy over time, and so it happened that these "undead" managed to escape and are now roaming the countryside. No one knows what exactly drives them, but they seem to be moving with a clear purpose. |
