| The Girders hail from the small southern mining town of Skvrnsk; most of the players having been born within a mile of the town's central works. They build their game around the four-man 'Razor Wire' blitzer team; having lost star catcher Christen Solsker in the infamous 'Turtle Bay Massacre' and proved unable to find a half-decent quarterback. Replacing previous (now dead) thrower Per Hilbauer with his son Daman has so far looked like a backwards step, and the Girders are becoming increasingly reliant upon the Razor Wire to cut the necessary holes. Beginning the long, slow road to consistency after Turtle Bay, the Girders' captain Frode Braaten is coaching his players in a challenging man-marking system, and they are gaining a reputation for a game based on fitness and dogged beligerence rather than traditional Nordic brutality. |
