<p align="justify"><b>STOP PRESS:</B> The Eldar Phoenixes have recorded their 1st win of the season! In what was a difficult match for their undermanned opponents, the Phoenixes finally managed to cross the line more times than the other team. It seems to have been a game of firsts for the Phoenixes as they also recorded their first team fatality. Rookie Dragon Warrior, <b> Glint Sunshard</b>, tripped while attempting a simple dodge away from an opposition tackler. Despite extra advice from the coach, Glint's shoelaces appear to have become entwined and he fell, smashing his temple (and breaking his skull) on the boot of his suprised opponent. Phoenix chop-artist <b> Splint Ganglion</b>, failed to revive him saying "The stretcher bearers left half his brains on the pitch - there was nothing I could do except have a drink in his honour - cheers!" All of which goes to show that when your time is up, there's not a RR in the multiverse that can save you. <br><br>With the failure of his 1st High Elf Team - ( <a href ="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=232033"> The Legends of the Eldar</a> ), <b>Head Coach Fezdan</b> was placed under review by the High Elven Council of Players and Coaches (HECOPAC). This review found that Fezdan was indeed blameless - as were the players - for the teams failure to demonstrate Elven superiority. The investigators discovered that the team's gnomish waterboy, Nils Sweatrag, had been lacing the teams water supply with performance inhibiting substances. Nils apparently signed a confession before his execution. Consequently HECOPAC have reissued Fezdan with a license to coach High Elven Nobles and assisted in the recruitment of a new team for the competition. <br><br>At the preseason press conference Eldar Phoenix captain, <b> Tarrant Arrowflight </b> had this to say when asked about <b> The Legends of the Eldar</b>. "We have learnt a lot from them, mainly from their mistakes and we don't intend to be excluded from the league like they have been. I mean who wants to spend their careers playing the odd charity match and doing budget infomercials! Like our name suggests, from their ashes we will rise."</p>
