| Once led by their contemplative Ogre guru Extension, this team searched for the peace that can only be found face down on the pitch, ears filled with the fading roar of thousands of blood-lusting fans. This is how Extension ended his days. The opponent is only in your mind. Lovers of the passing and dodging game, Introspection used to have theme-nights such as "Find your inner Elf", "You can dodge it!" and "Dr Strangeogre or How I learned to love the Long Bomb" back at the barracks. Extension usually brought his guitar. With the list of opponent casaulties growing longer and scoring becoming more and more scarce the boys had plenty need for the softly sung and heartwarming ballads of their guru. The pain of others is hard to bear. At their 18th game, Introspection had reached "the Record of the Beast": 6/6/6. Was this a sign that the end is near, or just a good omen? Extension was at the time unwilling to comment the numerical "coincidence"... At game 21 we thought we knew. The end was near and it was wearing a strange hat, black beard and a bull's ass. Those Chaos Dwarves were thought to be the end of these peace-loving orcs. The scoring potential and hope of getting out of the red in that area took a serious blow after both Inversion and Clarté niggled in the same game (22). Inversion did a nasty faceplant after some fiercly inverted air time and landed so badly that when the apo got to him he just turned in disgust. Needless to say, the guru was not happy. Clarté, hero of the match and Introspections greatest star, pulled something during his post game stretch and for the first time has been reported to have mumbled something along the lines of "I'm to old for this sh*t...". Game 23 was horrible. All was <b>Darkness</b>. In addition, the rising star Conway left the stadium in a body bag. The Apo was nowhere to be seen. Game 26 saw the end of an era. Extension is no more. One of few remaining Ogres playing for an Orc team was fouled to death. The end came not from Chaos Dwarves, but from fellow Orcs... Introspection is a broken team... Staggering through each game mumbling the name "Extension" through clenched teeth, Introspection marches on. The Troll Gotama of The Secret Smile has joined the team. Who knows what untold knowledge he carries with him? After a horrible 0-4 loss with 0 winnings Clarté decided that enough is enough. The retirement of the star was welcomed by some, but grieved by most. After game 51 Introspection is once again more or less a full team. The Blitzer gang is in place and Gotama, although injured, is trying to spread his secret wisdom in memory of Extension. The style of play is not as elegantly Elven nowadays, but it's fairly effective. The last few games have been disappointing. Gotama has had to leave because of it. |
