Wins against the Warsaw Rodents and Borussia Munchingoblin were scant consolation; and the season was rounded off by a 4-1 Drubbing by the Bulgary Stars. No leaving the Conference yet!  In a bad start, Arden Villa lost 3 - to Har Ganeth United, and then only managed to scrape a draw against Munchingoblin. But with wins over the Bakery, Valhalladolik and the Wampires they started the process of turning the season around, and despite a loss to Ratchester, a win over Nuln Park and a Nuln/Valhalladolik forfeit are enough to land the Villa second place and promotion.  Ach, double promotion, and after the trim as well! But with victories over Maharak, Skar Bay and Bulgary in a start-of-season victory streak, anything was still possible... and even after a 4 -1 drubbing by Ratchester, a 1-1 draw with Lifrigpool left them still in the running. Promotion was obtained, off to the Championship! Nine is the number of the lord of fates and he gifts us with a Perfect Season. A Seven-game streak of Victories takes Arden Villa to the Premiership! And at last, a Trophy arives in the cabinet!  The Premiership! And in a stonking season where we beat both BOT's and only lost to the Implacable Mummywell FC, Arden Villa made it to second place in the division/entire league! This performance was then repeated to gain a second place in the Cup; though this was again eclipsed by Real Sociadead's victory in their double. The second Arden Premiership season starts adequately with a draw at Essetesford followed by a pair of victories over rivals Aberdoom and Foulbion; but such good fortune comes unstuck when they run into the unstoppable juggernaught of the Fulham Titans. With two players killed outright and another six in traction after the game Villa have not a hope of putting up a credible defence against Sociedead in their next match, and though they recover enough to beat Bristol Reavers in their sixth match, round seven's draw against Druchiioord confirms their status in mid-table. Chaos teams have never got on well with 'rules' at the best of times, and the change to a new ruleset is enough to completely throw the Arden team. A Win, a Loss and two draws sets the Villa up for mid-table mediocrity, but crushing defeats to the Southland Saints and Foulbion in the season's second half see the Scrabbling Villa ejected from the premiership. Parachute payments are a wonderful thing, and Arden makes the most of them to re-arm and prepare for a season outside of the premiership bubble. A glorious season follows, in which Arden win five their seven games, only beaten by the Necromantic claws of Beitar Jerusalem; and a draw against the Rotters of Borussia at season’s end is enough to claim the trophy from Beitar by a single point. Arden Villa win their second championship title, and a premiership return awaits… Season 14. |
