"Those within the Fern Gulley can remember the first form of bloodbowl; a band of mutual friends would meet and has a friendly match. That was thousands of years ago, back when the original form of the game had been taught to the early races by the Old Ones. Now the game has been perverted by the lesser masses. They cry out for blood, for violence.
Wardancer Micheal Flatley, Lord of the Dance, can still remember those simpler times. The massive shift in the sport has filled him with rage, a rage that, somewhat ironically, leads to bloodshed on the field. But Flatley intends to show the fans the finese that was the Old game. With skill, speed and grace, Flatley's Fern Gulley Fury will show their worth!"


Making their way north from Lothren, the Fern Gulley Fury travelled to the stadium in Averland for their first match against the Waste Warrior All-stars. These chaos-born monsters were the pinacle of everything that offended Micheal Flatley's idea of blood bowl, and he and his team were determined to show them their error. The chaos team immediatly forgot the ball, inteding instead to crush, maim and kill the Fury. However, the speed and skill of the elves was too much, and by the full time whislte had blown, the All-stars had failed to even hurt any elf, and had also failed to stop the Fury winning the game 3-0. Flatley was pleased. Match by match, they would prove how the sport should be played.

Following their first victory, the Fury headed south to the Bretonian port of Calai for their next two matches against teams from Lustria and its surrounding islands. Their first match was against the Amazonian women of the Congo Valkyries. The ferocious women seemed to have the elves on the back foot for a while with their suprising agility, but the Micheal Flatley decided to lead by example, scoring the first of the Fury's two touchdowns to eventually win the game. However, the Amazon's anger was taken out on Dave the lineman. He would have to miss the next game, his skull cracked, likely never to heal properly.

With two wins already under their belts, the Fury were proving that might is not always right, and that skill could over come most Blood Bowl obsticles. The next obsticle in the teams way was the Lizardmen of Red, Gold and Green. Micheal was rejoiced. Of all the possible teams to play, it would be the lizardmen that would recall the games of old, and would offer a true challenege. And that was exactly what happened. Both teams were a blur of speed and skill, and the referees and crowd often found it hard to keep up. By the time the final whistle blew, the Fury had stolen a victory in the dying seconds, winning 4-3. This was a true classic, Flatley thought. A game to be proud of.
