..Urban Nightmare..

Invading from the Gates of Calith, the Urban Nightmares, ALIENs all, join the Southern Wastes League to wreck havoc in the Wastes.

Over the darkened city, the city of towers,
The city of a thousand gates,
Over the gleaming terraced roofs, the huddled towers,
Over a somnolent whisper of loves and hates,
The slow wind flows, drearily streams and falls,
With a mournful sound down rain-dark walls.
On one side purples the lustrous dusk of the sea,
And dreams in white at the city's feet;
On one side sleep the plains, with heaped-up hills.
Oaks and beeches whisper in rings about it.
Above the trees are towers where dread bells beat.

The fisherman draws his streaming net from the sea
And sails toward the far-off city, that seems
Like one vague tower.
The dark bow plunges to foam on blue-black waves,
And shrill rain seethes like a ghostly music about him
In a quiet shower.

Rain with a shrill sings on the lapsing waves;
Rain thrills over the roofs again;
Like a shadow of shifting silver it crosses the city;
The lamps in the streets are streamed with rain;
And sparrows complain beneath deep eaves,
And among whirled leaves
The sea-gulls, blowing from tower to lower tower,
From wall to remoter wall,
Skim with the driven rain to the rising sea-sound
And close grey wings and fall . . .

...The wind hurls blows at the rain-starred glistening windows,
The wind shrills down from the half-seen walls.
We flow on the mournful wind in a dream of dying;
And at last a silence falls.

Opening the Season against the Underworld team Cripple Peak Stone-Stealers, Urban Nightmare enlisted Max Spleenripper, who valiantly took down Rarg early in the first half before stupidly impaling himself on his own Chainsaw. The Underworld team were forced into an early touchdown, and Urban Nightmare proceeded to grind them down into a 2-1 victory.

They went up against the Norse team Freezy Trees in their second game, facing a well seasoned foe. With several inducements, they managed to squeeze out a 1-1 tie at the last minute, killing Fox in Socks and Wocket in the process.

Final Stats for the game:
TD Diff: 0 (1 - 1)Cas Diff: 5 (5 - 0)

Their third game saw them face the Slann team Henson's Henchmen where the first half was an action packed mess of chasing the ball, followed by the slow, inexorable grind of Chaos pushing for a 1-0 victory at the last moment.

Unfortunately, Nuffle was not on their side that day. Urban Nightmare failed to fend off the Ogre team Nu Big Ladz, despite all efforts. Early scrimmage led to naught, and the inability to pin down the Snotlings proved their downfall when the Nu Big Ladz scored. Despite pressing on to make it a quick tie, Roundabout I tripped right before getting to ball into the endzone, spelling destruction. The Snotlings managed to get the ball downfield. Although Urban Nightmare was able to prevent a 0-2 defeat, it was too late to score, and much sorrow was had as a second founder, Feral I, fell to the Ogre horde.

Final Stats for the game:

MVP: Dogs I
An utterly brutal beatdown from the 4 time Premier Champs. An early blitz took out Skyscraper I, and the apothecary barely saved him from a niggling injury. The Whalekillers proceeded to score a turn 8 touchdown, and force another touchdown early in the second half. A desperate play by Rubbish II and Dogs I led to a touchdown in turn 7 of the second half, which pushed the score to a 2-1 loss.

Final Stats for the game:

MVP: Intersection I.
Facing off against an Elf team is never easy for a relatively inexperienced Chaos team, but Urban Nightmare was up to the challenge. Taking a steady push down the pitch, their attempt at a turn 8 touchdown was almost ruined when Roundabout I tripped over his feet and dropped the ball. A daring play by Vulwin almost saw the opponents snagging a last minute touchdown, but he too tripped over his own feet. Feral II, in his second match, managed to grab the ball and pass it to Intersection I for a touchdown.

The second half saw Daemon Ex Tesserae making a crucial mistake in the second turn, allowing Feral II to once again prove his worth and snatch the ball from the opposing team. Though he quickly lost it again, his valiant efforts allowed Dogs I to pick up the ball and score. Though preventing a touchdown from the Elves was nigh impossible, holding them back from a tie proved possible, leading to a difficult 2-1 victory.

The final game of Season 62 saw Urban Nightmare face off against the Human Team, Black of Death. An early Blitz had the team hopeful, but GorHead quickly clubbed Cats I to death, ending the life of another founder at the hands of an Ogre.

After forcing a quick touchdown, the team had Roundabout I score a touchdown of his own, followed by a long struggle up the pitch in the second half. The Chaos Warriors Tunnel I and Skyscraper I cleared half the pitch with the help of the Sweltering Heat, leaving only four human players on the pitch before the final touchdown.

Season LXIII

To begin the season, Urban Nightmare faced off against Psych Lab, a well seasoned team that had seen more than 20 seasons in the Southern Wastes. Roaches I quicky took out a Linerat, and Max Spleenripper once again proved his worth by taking out their bulkiest rat, Melissa. Intersection I proceeded to take out another rat, followed by Tunnel I, who took out their Star Player, Martina. Roundabout I scored a turn 7 touchdown, securing the match.

In the second half, the Lab Rats struggled to take possession of the ball, leaving it lying on the pitch. Despite managing to throw it downfield, Intersection I struck down Mel IV, who was holding the ball, but failed to recover it. The crafty Rats managed to sneak it downfield and land a touchdown in turn 5. A poor kick had it land neatly outside the pitch to be given to Roundabout I, who rushed, weaved, and dodged his way to the end zone to score a turn 7 touchdown.

Against Elves, a tie is a victory. At the kickoff, Intersection I quickly struck down Blanched, leaving him broken on the ground. A quick scruffle later, Cats II stepped on Pounded's head and broke his jaw. Despite everything, the Dark Elves managed to steal the ball and land a touchdown to end the first half.

In the second half, a constant fight over the ball found it left in the hands on those on the edge of the pitch. A few moments later, several elves found themselves at the mercy of the crowd, and some quick movements from Feral II found him scoring the equalizer.

The Vampires shuddered at the blizzard that met us in the pitch, and Skyscraper I quickly crushed a thrall to start off the match, with Roundabout I landing a touchdown near the end of the Second Half.

Tunnel pounded two more into the dirt, killing one. Cats II scored a completion and was awarded MVP for his efforts to secure victory.

The sun shone bright upon the pitch where opposing forces of Chaos were to meet. Fitting, for neither team was inclined to throw the ball too far. A heavy scrum quickly formed in the centre of the pitch, neither team progressing far in the combat. Tunnel I quickly crushed a Hobgoblin to death, though revenge was taken upon Skyscraper I, whose knee was shattered beyond the Apothecary's ability to heal it - He was examined, and the apothecary shamefully gave up and left him with a shattered knee.

Tunnel I broke a Chaos Dwarf in return, and then later crushed another Hobgoblin beneath his own body. The near legendary Caging Chris failed to get beneath Intersection I's armor and proceeded to get casually backhanded to recover for the next match.Roundabout I and Dogs I made a valiant attempt to score a turn 8 touchdown, but was rebuffed by the whims of Nuffle.

Intersection I proceeded to prove her mettle by taking down a Bull Centaur, Mixmax Mickey, whose neck was clearly broken as he was carried off the pitch. A protracted scuffle later, Roundabout I carried the ball to the endzone, securing a 1-0 victory.

Starting the season missing two key players against a High Elf team was a struggle, but one the Nightmares were well up to. An early gangfoul by the Elves left Tunnel I badly hurt, but their foul left them vulnerable to a massive fireball which quickly knocked two Elves out of the game.

A long stall later, Roundabout I managed to score, but it came at the cost of Cats II, whose corpse was left shattered on the pitch. An attempt by the Elves to score a quick touchdown at the start of the second half was thrwarted, but the Elves successfully danced around to score a touchdown anyway.

The match ended in a draw after a miserable failure by the Elves to actually handle the ball, something which left many a fan deeply amused.

A most brutal game for both the Nightmares and Psych Lab, with many concussed players staggering off the field over the course of the match.

Roundabout I managed to make a touchdown early in the match, but a brilliant sprint by Superstar Martina saw an equaliser before the second half.

The Rats took a quick lead to begin the second half, but some brilliant manouvering and a desperate toss by Feral I landed the ball in Roundabout I's waiting arms to end the match in a tie.

In the standard brutal Chaos fashion, victory was swift and decisive. The first turn saw three players leave the pitch on the side of the Chaos Dwarfs, and it only went downhill for them from there, especially after Legend François Englert was sent off the pitch for a foul.

This game also marked Urban Nightmare achieving a lifetime positive TD record.

In a similar fashion to the game against the LHOC, the match against C*A*S* opened with a bang, each offensive warrior removing a player from the pitch. Skyscraper I soon also removed the
Troll from the pitch, and proceeded to quickly shatter the ribs of the opposing Ogre. C*A*S* quickly realised the threat he posed, and hit him hard enough to leave him in the apothecary's tent for the rest of the match.
After a turn 8 touchdown, C*A*S* managed to make some quick moves with their Dark Elf and equalise early in the second half. With some quick manouvering and a cheerful gangfoul, Pigeons I broke the skull of the Minotaur, which allowed Tunnel I to take revenge on the Elf Renegade for his touchdown and shred his back. A few short turns later, and victory was had.

Roundabout I managed a quick score in the first half, which was quickly followed up by a miserable fumble by the Horrors' rookie ghoul, with which Roundabout pulled off a last second score at the end of the first half. To close the last turn, however, Pigeons I's face was stepped on and broken by Nicholas Clumsytree. To start the second half a rock hit Witnesses I and gave him a serious concussion, which was quickly followed up by Nicholas Clumsytree stepping on Rats I and breaking some ribs. To complete the brutality, Cats III had his eye punched by Red Knight III. Luckily, however, the Horrors were utterly unable to handle the ball, and only managed to score once despite Urban Nightmare only having three on the pitch.
