| The ancient Elven city of Whitevale is home to all manner of slender ball-players; from the proud, yet impoverished catchers of Oldbrick to the hideous alleys of the Shadow Town, and beyond the city walls to the Freeforest where the Elves dwell among the Treemen. The Elves of Bluepeak are amongst the wealthiest, and some would say arrogant, in all the city. From their ancestral home in the Azure Palace, built atop the tallest hill within the city's walls, a network of political marriages have connected the once tiny Bluepeak family to countless other foreign noble High Elf houses, and brought all manner of soldiers, diplomats, builders, and even Bloodbowl players to the city. And as the family grew, so did their influence; the Azure Palace now stands not at the centre of the family's estate, but the centre of the very borough that houses this most historic of groups. Not everyone who lives and works in Bluepeak is related by blood, but it is a common jibe poked at the Bluepeak Elves that ever relationship is incestuous, every promotion by nepotism. But the Bluepeak Elves take these criticisms in stride, and seek to repay those who accuse them with the most severe form of revenge one can inflict without the use of a thumbtack callously placed on an unsuspecting other's seat: Bloodbowl! While dismissed as pompous and airy, the Bluepeak Breakers pride themselves on their toughness and gritiness on the Line of Scrimmage, their fondness for inflicting injuries, and their place at the head of the all-time kills table in the Whitevale Premier League. Especially motivated against fellow Elf sides, the Breakers have stumbled tentatively out of their home city to wage war and gain glory against teams from all races, and across the Old World. |
