iving up any pretense of being a premier academic institution, the UTEP instituted a program of heavy recruiting amongst party animals. All players were encouraged to take a minor in the new 'Party' curriculum. The instructors recruited to teach the first year course, 'PRTY 101: Intoxicants', are a Who's Who amongst the inner circle of professional athletes and rock stars.

While several of the players for the UTEP Party Minors joined the team during open tryouts, many of those players have a decidedly unhealthy cast about them; often seen shambling down the field. The team has also announced an open door policy; offering to recruit from the opposition during active games!

It is fairly obvious that UTEP only has an athletic program as an excuse for the parties and tailgates.
