Shadow Warriors of Nagarythe

"Tainted by association with the Witch King and the violent madness of Aenarion, the survivors of Nagarythe are a very different type of Asur. Since the destruction of their lands they have been a rootless and nomadic people, drawn to fighting and unable to settle to more peaceful tasks. They are intense and brooding, proud and warlike, and this has made them little trusted by the other Elves of Ulthuan. Despite this they are among the most loyal subjects of the Phoenix King and the tales of their daring exploits are many. It is an unusual Elf indeed who has not heard of their valour. Though they are wilder and perhaps more vicious than the rest of our people, it is because of their tragic past rather than innate cruelty. Given the bitter times through which they have lived, this is a flaw that we find easy to understand."

The Shadow Warriors are an elite band of scouts, warriors and assassins, who are the descendants of loyalist Elves from the Kingdom of Nagarythe during the time of the great Sundering. The Shadow Warriors are masters of ambush and guerrilla warfare, elite warriors even among other Elves. They strike swiftly and noiselessly from concealment with deadly accurate volleys from their long bows.

After a particularly fierce battle against the forces of chaos, one small war band was separated from the rest of their group and swept into a strange warp created by a wretched chaos sorcerer, knocking them all unconscious. When they awoke, they found themselves alone in a familiar, yet eerily different landscape. They headed for the closest village and stealthily gathered information. They were no longer in the same world it seemed. Some strange sport seemed to have replaced the warfare of the world they knew. They also managed to extract some information from a local wizard who claimed that the only way for them to get back is to pass through the chaotic warp one more time. This would not be an easy process however and the wizard would need many rare and exotic materials. In order to gather these, the wizard recommended that they form a team and take to the pitch to gather funds as well as information as to the whereabouts of certain items. Seemingly having no other options, they made a pact with the wizard and agreed t his suggestion. They would play this sport and he would work to get them back home to where they rightfully belonged.

This is a trial concept team. I plan on starting with only linemen and working towards getting blodge/wrodge on most of them before purchasing any positionals. I'm going for balanced development, to make every elf worth their salt and capable of performing any roll needed at the time.

The idea is that they're a small troupe of Shadow Warriors that have been separated from their main group. They are without their commanders (positionals) and must make their way back to on their own. As time goes on and they gain experience, some might be "promoted" by their peers due to their accomplishments and seen as leaders (i.e. positionals will be purchased). This will take some time however and for now they are all on the same level.
