Chicago Cubs, a National League team from Major League Baseball. They are cursed, in that they have an innate ability to blow leads and fail to win any postdivision series. Without a doubt, this team will also be cursed. I predict a disasterous casualty record, coupled with failed apothecary rolls, to go along with a losing record. However, since the fans are idiots like me, they will remain devout Cubs fans regardless of how horrible the season goes and how horribly they play. We shall soon see... First Season Results: In true Cubbie fashion, the team managed to earn 2nd place in the round robin tourney (out of 8 teams), and made it to the final game of the KO tourney... which they lost. Ah, well- the team has done well... 7/1/2... and the fans still love them (ff = 13 after 10 games). The casualty record prediction was accurate: -7 differential after 10 games, with 6 BH, 3 SI, and 4 RIP. Only a couple of failed apothecary rolls, much fewer than expected. And the winning record was a huge and welcome surprise. Second Season Update: Due to other obligations by the coach, the Cubbies were only able to play a handful of games in the second season, and were unable to play in the final KO tourney. They recorded a couple more wins, and a couple more losses, with no additional ties. The Cubbies also suffered more casualties, including one of the best players, the Rat Ogre Aramis Ramirez. He will be sorely missed. Third (and final) Season Update: Again due to coach obligations, the Cubbies were unable to play much of season 3. Three games were played, though, with a record of 2/1/0... not too bad! Unfortunately, another Rat Ogre had to be retired, along with an important Storm Vermin. Results of the KO tourney: In true Cubbie fashion, we lost in the first round... a heartbreaking 5-4 loss. The opponent was tough, and used their 1-turner very effectively. When they rolled a blitz, it was all over. |
