The history of Berryman Products dates to 1918 when Waldo B. "Pappy" Berryman traded a prize winning stud horse for a patented tire sealing formula. The patent was transferred on the 23rd day of December, 1919.

With his family, Pappy traveled across the country in a converted wood panel Graham Truck

They traveled from coast to coast bartering their Sealex Tire Sealer for meals, fuel and accommodations. It's told when Pappy hit a hot sales area he would set up production in a rented room, mix his formula in the bathtub, then fill orders from his truck the next day.

Located in a back-woods area of Lima, Ohio, an old shack was converted to serve as the first manufacturing site for Berryman Products.

Packaged in glass, early major products like Solvall Tune Up Oil, OilZall Valve Oil, and Lubrex Super-Lubricant gained localized acceptance and popularity and set the pace for Berryman's quality reputation.

Coolex, Rust Knox, EZ Doz-It, Zingo, Gyroseal, Rad-Seal, Bloxit, Boilero and Quix were other products added to the line during the first 35 years of business.

In 1958, B-12 Chemtool ® was developed as a multi-purpose surface cleaning solvent and soon became Berryman's flagship product.

J-B WELD is the world's finest cold-weld compound. It's a remarkably easy, convenient, and inexpensive alternative to welding, soldering, and brazing. J-B WELD is the smart way to repair something ... and for literally pennies per use. When welding or soldering is out of the question due to cost, down time for repairs, or technical/environmental considerations, J-B WELD is the answer.

For over 30 years, Mary Bonham has been the driving force behind the success of the J-B WELD Company. Mary's late husband, Sam, discovered the "tougher than steel" epoxy in his machine shop in the mid-1960's. When Sam and Mary married in 1968, they risked setting aside Mary's beauty salon and Sam's machine shop, and hit the road selling Sam's invention to automotive shops throughout Texas.

From their first national trade show appearance in California, Sam and Mary built J-B WELD up from fledgling enterprise to the international success it is today. Remarkably, J-B WELD Company is still family-owned. This multi-million dollar company does business in all 50 states, plus 27 foreign countries.

Accurate
In 1947, William K. Westley, a World War II Marine veteran, founded the first of several chemical companies to bear his name. He started by inventing a product that removed lipstick from wall paint. That product was eventually sold to Proctor & Gamble.

In 1959, Westley invented his star product, PB B’laster, in response to problems a friend was having with a phosphate mine in Florida. Phosphate is corrosive, and the damp Florida air exaggerates the problem. Mining equipment could not be taken apart formaintenance and repair because of the build-up of corrosion, phosphate and moisture. Nothing could break through the corrosion—until PB B’laster was developed. PB B’laster penetrates corrosion to allow easy disassembly. And it doesn’t stop there. PB also acts as a lubricant and rust inhibitor to extend the life of the equipment and make future maintenance easier.

Westley headed his last company for 20 years, developing new products and increasing sales. In 1980, he was ready to retire again. Bernard L. Porter, a former Cleveland investment banker, bought the company and began working to increase its market share. When Porter bought the company, it produced five products: TVF, JB Engine Tune-Up, PB B’laster, Tire Cleaner and Protectant & Polish. The product line now includes those five, plus seven more for use in home, industrial, automotive service, marine and now heavy duty truck applications. Blaster also offers custom formulating and blending services for private label sales and proprietary applications.

In 1980, the company had limited distribution and was relatively unknown outside of certain markets. Twenty years later, Blaster is a nationally recognized brand.

Instant Krazy Glue® a super-strong, fast-drying adhesive was introduced to the North American market in 1973, along with the Instant Krazy Glue® "dangling construction worker." Most people recognize Instant Krazy Glue's® brand as THE instant glue that can bond anything from china and collectibles to holiday wreaths and model trains.

Instant Krazy Glue® cures in the presence of moisture. That is why it is important to always keep the glue container sealed tightly when it is not being used. This will keep the Instant Krazy Glue® fresh in the container. When Instant Krazy Glue® is applied to a surface, the moisture on the surface initiates the bonding process and begins to form bonds with the surfaces being glued.

If your fingers are stuck together: Don't worry. Just soak acetone or ordinary nail polish remover containing acetone on the bonded area. The bond will break but be sure to rinse the area thoroughly after de-bonding. If you don't have acetone handy, have a little patience!

Soak the bonded area in warm soapy water. Carefully peel or roll the skin apart gently and slowly. DO NOT PULL APART, Instant Krazy Glue® creates a VERY strong bond that's nearly impossible to break by pulling straight up and down. If you gently roll the skin, you will gradually diminish the bonds between the Instant Krazy Glue molecules themselves and be able to get your fingers apart. For Instant Krazy Glue® emergency medical information call toll-free 1-800-228-5635, ext. 022.

Armor All's legacy began in 1962 when a 21-year-old polymer chemist named Joe Palcher invented a milky-white "miracle" formula to protect rubber, plastic and vinyl surfaces from UV radiation and ozone. Joe was an early pioneer in the defense of vehicles from the powerful and harmful effects of nature's elements.

In 1966, a local auto shop owner convinced Joe to bottle and sell the formula. Named Tridon ("no dirt" spelled backwards), the product quickly grew in popularity across the U.S. Among the automotive industry and everyday car owners alike, it became clear how easy it could be to keep a vehicle looking like new.

By 1971, the product - renamed RT-10 - was in great demand. In 1972, Alan Rypinski, a marketing specialist and automotive enthusiast, secured RT-10's exclusive sales rights, formed a new company called Armor All, and renamed the product Armor All® Protectant.

Alan's goal was to make the powerful enhancement and shine capabilities of this formula available to car owners worldwide. In 1976, Armor All® Protectant received a patent for its unique formula; in 1979, the company became Armor All Products Corp., and Armor All® Protectant received a second patent for its exclusive infusion method, which allows its chemicals to penetrate the surface and protect it from degradation

The Simple Green® story began over twenty-five years ago, long before "environmentally friendly" products were mandated by law or considered the new trend. Bruce FaBrizio and his father developed a safer alternative to the toxic cleaners originally designed to remove tannic acid, a by-product of coffee roasting, from roasting machinery. It took three years to perfect the biodegradable, not-toxic, non-flammable, non-abrasive formula. After its initial success, Bruce began selling Simple Green to industrial customers in 55-gallon drums; which he delivered in his van, for use as a cleaner on equipment and floors.

In 1979, just as initial retail marketing efforts were beginning to pay off, Bruce's father died. Bruce managed to keep the business alive and in 1981 gave his company the name it continues to carry - Sunshine Makers, Inc. Simple Green was then introduced nationally into several new markets including hardware/Do It Yourself, consumer grocery & drug, GSA (government) and industrial classes of trade. In the early 1990s, Bruce introduced the Environmental Technology Division, in an effort to define the cutting edge of today's cleaning solutions and high standards for environmental responsibility.

Oxy-10 slowly releases oxygen, which has an antibacterial effect (bacteria are a primary cause of acne). It also causes peeling and drying of skin, which helps to eliminate blackheads and whiteheads.

First wash the affected area of skin with medicated soap and water. Pat dry gently with a towel; apply enough medicine to cover the affected area and rub in gently once or twice a day. For the shave cream form, wet the area to be shaved, apply a small amount of the cream, rub over the entire area, shave, then rinse the area and pat it dry. Check with your doctor about using aftershave lotions. If you have a fair complexion, start with a single daily application at bedtime. Keep the medicine away from eyes, nose, and mouth.

Beano is a natural product that helps prevent gas before it starts. Beano is not a drug. Only Beano contains a natural food enzyme that works with your body's digestion to breakdown the complex sugars in gassy foods making them more digestible. Beano enables you to enjoy your favorite healthy foods, whether at home, work, in a restaurant or at a friend's house, without worrying about gas. Just remember to take Beano with you wherever you go and you will have peace of mind to enjoy the healthy foods you love!

The body does not digest and absorb some carbohydrates in the small intestine because of a shortage or absence of certain enzymes. This undigested food then passes from the small intestine to the large intestine where bacteria break down the food, producing gas. The most common symptoms of gas are flatulence, abdominal bloating and abdominal pain. In essence, the body lacks the enzymes needed to breakdown the carbohydrates found in some gassy foods like vegetables, legumes, grains, cereals, nuts, seeds and whole-grain breads. This is where Beano® steps in. Beano® contains a food enzyme from a natural source that works with your body’s digestion to breakdown the complex sugars in gassy foods making them more digestible, thereby preventing gas before it even starts.

Bactine was developed in 1947 and introduced in 1950 to provide consumers with a single first aid product that was more effective, safer, and less caustic than the products commonly used for first aid at the time (iodine, silver nitrate, boric acid, and hydrogen peroxide are a few examples).

Bactine can protect you and your family from minor skin infections. It temporarily relieves pain & itching from minor cuts, scrapes and burns.

For Minor Cuts and Scrapes:

* Wash wound with soap and water. Use the antiseptic Bactine as directed on package.
* If wound is a puncture, dirty, animal bite, or if you think it may require stitches, see a doctor as soon as possible.

For Minor Burns:

* In first-degree (superficial) burns, only the top layer of skin is involved. The area is usually painful and the skin is red and dry:
o Rinse burn site with cool water.
o Apply Bactine as directed on package.

* Second degree burns are red and have blisters that may open and weep clear fluid.

* For second-degree burns or worse, a physician should be consulted as soon as possible.

In 1953, a fledgling company called Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry, in a small lab in San Diego, California.

It took them 40 attempts to get the water displacing formula worked out. But they must have been really good, because the original secret formula for WD-40—which stands for Water Displacement perfected on the 40th try—is still in use today.

WD-40 Company, Inc., went public in 1973 and was listed Over-The-Counter. The stock price increased by 61% on the first day of listing.

Since that time, WD-40 has grown by leaps and bounds, and is now virtually a household name, used in numerous consumer and industrial markets such as automotive, manufacturing, sporting goods, aviation, hardware and home improvement, construction, and farming.
