"GRAAAAAH." -Mad Jack McMad

John Parr didn't get the title 'Bloody' from being nice to old ladies and picking daisies, but he's no maniac like Mad Jack. Oh sure, when he's run into you, you feel as though your insides are on your outside, but it's nothing personal. For John, see, it's all business. If you get up and wipe the blood off o' yourself and don't whine like a wee girl, he might even buy you a mug of ale after the game.

First Mate Richard Harlock, or "Dead-Eye Dick" as he's known to his mates, is the unofficial leader of the Jacks. The fact that he couldn't save his captain from being murdered is always at the back of his mind, and he has become a quiet, brooding man. Always a crack-shot with a pistol, his eagle-eyes have made the perfect thrower out of him. It also doesn't hurt that he has arms like tree-trunks and can hurl the ball as if it were shot from a cannon. He's vowed to himself that, althought it would be easier, he's not going to shoot his captain's killer from a distance. No. He's going to get up close to deal the killing blow himself.

As you might imagine, Dirty Bill Wiggins, is well...dirty. He smells, even by pirate standards. He's got an aversion to water of all kinds. Every three months or so, when the other Jacks just can't stand the reek any more, they take drastic measures. They knock Bill unconcious and toss him in a bath. This usually results in more than a few black eyes and bruised ribs, seeing as Bill's no pushover. Why do they put up with Bill's bad hygiene? Well... you stand by your mates. That's all.

"Cor! When's the last time you had a bath, Bill?!"

"Hrm... lessee...August, July, June, May..."

"Oh, forget it."

Dancin' Pete loves to dance. He'll dance for anything: a copper, a mug of ale, because the sun's up. He'll dance and dance and dance. His opponents usually find this very distracting. He's caught many a lineman off his guard; hitting them while they're busy watching his fancy footwork.

"Dan. Just...Dan?" -Red Shadrach Canker

George Buckthorn is the newest addition to the Jacks. Formerly Lord George Buckthorn III, he was disinherited by his family for being a low-down dirty pirate. The Jacks met him at a local pub where he was beating the help. They signed him to the team, and couldn't be happier with his bad attitude, violent tendencies and greed.

"Excuse me, barkeep." -George Buckthorn

"Mmmyes?" - hapless barkeep

"Did I not ask for merlot?!" *WHAM**WHAM**WHAM* - George Buckthorn

Henry Hand is the most reliable member of the Jacks. He rarely complains, even under the harshest conditions, and is always doin' what needs doin'. Take fer instance the pistol shot he'd been carryin' around in his knee for the last two years. No one knew about it until it got knocked loose in a recent match. You can tell he's in pain and he's movin' a bit slower than usual, but he's still there on the line, where his team needs him. Hell...he'll even run the ball in.

Morgan Dunslinger was a Jack, way back in the old days. Dead-eye Dick, with the recent near-fatal injury he suffered at the hands of some scurvy Elves, thought he should bring in another thrower. Morgan was the natural choice. He's a bit of a pacifist, not using guns and all, but he sure can throw. During boarding actions, Morgan would don his gloves, and two belt pouches filled with a mixture of manure, chum and secret spices. He'd fling it in the eyes of his opponents, usually blinding them and always making them violently ill.

If there was ever a complainer to beat all complainers, it's Red Shadrach Canker. The other Jacks think the only thing makes him happy, is being miserable. This makes him the perfect lineman. If getting the tar kicked outta you by Ogres, Trolls and Black Orcs don't put yer knickers in a bunch, nothin' will.

"Ach! Fine! I suppose it's up to me then, is it?!" -Red Shadrach Canker

All the Jacks know that H. Blind Pew is the kind of guy who'd cut Granny Pew off at the ankles if there were two-bits in it. That's why the Jacks like him so much. You always know where you stand with him.

"I say Pew, where did you get that fine looking coat?" -Johnny Truelove

"Offa some corpse...he said he was alive, but you know how they lie sometimes." -H. Blind Pew

More 'n Sore was the former gunnery captain of the Jacks' ship. He was well known for his dual pistols; two twelve pound cannon converted into hand-held models! After the Green Bitch sank, More disappeared. Fortunately, Dead-eye Dick found him on the streets of Nuln one day, working as a bodyguard for some noble. Well, needless to say, More was glad to see his old mates and even more glad to quit his job to join the Jacks team. Until recently, their linemen have had to face off against Trolls, Mummies and Bull Centaurs, with nothing going for them but a need and ability to get the hell out of the way. More 'n Sore is there to provide some much needed muscle for the Jacks' front-line.

"Wrecked 'em? You damn near killed 'em!" -Dead-eye Dick

Ivar the Boneless is the only Jack in history to suffer from sea-sickness. He got his nick-name because the other Jacks always joked that he puked hard enough to throw-up his own bones. Ivar likes being on land more than the other Jacks, and pukes a whole lot less these days.

"Sausage, get yer sausage here! Hooves, eyes, guts and brains, all ground-up and stuffed into a wee sheeps intestine! Tastes as good as it sounds!" -Nuffl sausage vendor

Jimmy Truelove is Johnny's little brother. When Jimmy heard of his big brother's death, he got after the 'Jacks to let him join. Dick would have tried to discourage the lad, but he knows what it's like to crave vengeance.
