Legend says that when the Old Gods created the worlds, Quetzl, the Protector
God, built his own island on which his worshipers could live in peace. These
lizards were the best: the strongest, the fastest, the most agile. Quetzl named
the island ¥umtum. The lizards on the island aged, but never died, due to the
magic of ¥umtum Island. The oldest of the Lizards were called the Fathers.

Of the Fathers, one lizard stood out above the rest; he was not the biggest,
nor the strongest, nor the most agile, nor the quickest. He was blind in one
eye and very sickly. Even with these injuries, this Father lizard always looked
out for the younger lizards.

One day, there was an accident. A young lizard enraged a nesting Carnosaur.
The weakest of the Father lizard saved the young lizard, at the cost of his own
life. Quetzl was saddened by the first death of his favorite lizards. Noticing how
the Father lizard had died protecting another lizard, he blessed the Father
lizard. His life was restored to him, but no longer was he the weakest of the
lizards. His sight was restored, he was no longer sick, and now...now he was
the biggest and the strongest of the lizards of ¥umtum Island. The other lizards
called him the Papa Lizard.

This good time could only last so long. The other Gods grew jealous of
Quetzl's servants. Chotec, the Sun God, was the most jealous. He caused fire
to erupt from the ground of the island, burning the Quetzl's lizards. Where the
island had been, only a lone smoking peak AND the Papa Lizard remained.
Quetzl grief could not be measured; so great was his grief that he did not see
the Papa Lizard left on the island. Quetzl's grace left ¥umtum Island, but his
servant did not.

As if the magic of ¥umtum Island, now called ¥umtum Mountain, resided in
the Papa Lizard, he did not age. For many millenniums, the Papa Lizard stayed
on ¥umtum Mountain. Settlers avoided the island, calling it cursed and
"Haunted by a evil god." Eventually, though, a group of exploring lizards
happened upon ¥umtum Mountain. The Papa Lizard told them the tale of
Quetzl, and how he should be worshipped. The Papa Lizard also told them of
how Quetzl had forgotten ¥umtum Mountain. The lizards came up with a plan to
get Quetzl's attention: to become the first great Lizardman Blood Bowl team
in history.

Although he may be injured or killed on the field of battle, the magic of Quetzl,
the Protector God, still lives in him. Any injury he sustains is soon healed
and only emboldens him further. The Papa Lizard is known for 'fatherly' qualities;
he always protects his younger lizard brothers, and is known to go into rages of
revenge when lizards near him are killed or injured.

Interestingly enough, a generation or two of the Biggest Lizards were mistakenly named Baddest Lizards!

Notable predecessors:
The Biggest Lizard was on the team when it first started. He scored twice in his first game. Ever since his death, in his sixth game, he has stood on the team's bio as the "Saurus who killed himself." (See team bio for details.)

The Fifth Biggest Lizard, in the 15th turn of a game against some nasty chaos, made a crazy catch from a adoring FAN, allowing the Lizards to make the first and only TD (for either team.) Coach WindexChugger noted after the game that he preferred this type of 'crazy' play over the Biggest Lizard's crazy play. (See team bio for details)

The Seventh Biggest Lizard: You would think that player with 74 games and 127 SPP would have some stories...but The Seventh Biggest Lizard doesn't. He was an excellent blitzer who preformed his job perfectly. He was amongst the great 6 sauri who were supposed to play in the 2010 Warpstone Open before all went wrong in their last prep game. He was the 5th of the 6 to leave the team, skilling up +STR at the same time as he aged niggle. He will be missed, and aging will be cursed!

While the first of the line was one of the top sauri in the early days, his small feats have been trumped by the Second Strongest Lizards. When he retired he was a 8-4-2-9 Frenzy Block killer. No where was safe from the Second Strongest Lizard's blitz. In one game, he crowd surfed 3 players, one of which was killed.

The Third Strongest Lizard had it rough. While he was an amazing lizard, he played during the time of The Fourth Angriest Lizard. He was a fan favorite, being given the MVP ~once every six games. In his best game he dealt 3 of the 4 Lizardman casualties. The Lizards lost the game, with the dice heavily against them, but The Third Strongest Lizard fought hard, making Sithis revenge unable to forget the game.

The Seventh Strongest Lizard was amazingly fun with his Blodge, SF, Break Tackle. What he was best at was tying up opponent's great players. In one game, he tied up two mummies for 4 turns before they rolled a pow on him. In his final game he used some illegal drugs giving him extra strength. Unfortunately, on the final turn of the game the opponent's troll dealt him a niggling injury. He will be missed!

The Ninth Strongest Lizard was amazing. Blodge, STR5, Break Tackle, and (for a few games) guard. Nearly impossible to get down. In only 37 games he had accumulated 81 SPP. In one game the Ninth Strongest Lizard dealt two casualties at the same as he scored two touch downs. Over his career, the Ninth Strongest Lizard scored 9 TDs, approximately one every four games! He ball steal abilities were unmatched, because of his STR 5+Break Tackle combo. Unstoppable, except by the boot. The Ninth Strongest Lizard was niggled into retirement when a Vampire Thrall fouled him moments after the apothecary was used on a killed saurus.

Coach WindexChugger doesn't know what it is about the Baddest Lizards of Yumtum Mountain. They seem to be VERY susceptible to injury. This is now the Tenth Baddest Lizard, while all the other Sauri are on the sixth in their line. Maybe the Tenth Baddest will break the curse...maybe?

Notable Predecessors:
The Baddest Lizard is where it all started. When he was accidentally given Multiple Block as his first skill, the Baddest Lizard line has never been the same. Most of the Baddest Lizards last less then 10 games.

The Seventh Baddest Lizard was the biggest and worst manifestation of the curse. The Lizards had been praying to Nuffle for the return of a +STR saurus. Nuffle giveth and taketh away, often times simultaneously. Of course, the Baddest Lizard would age niggle ON HIS FIRST SKILL.

The Ninth Baddest Lizard broke the curse of short-lived Baddest Lizards. After the previous eight Baddest Lizards are rose and fell quite quickly, the Ninth Baddest Lizard was the second of the +AGI sauri and even survived over 60 games! Unfortunately, +AGI just isn't cut out for Sauri, coach WindexChugger commented after retiring the Ninth Baddest Lizard after he suffered (only) a MNG. "He was just adding too much onto the TR/TS, and his +AGI/SureHands combo wasn't being used enough for the cost to outweigh the rewards." The Ninth Baddest Lizard was one of the few Lizards to be retired without a permanent injury.

The Eleventh Baddest Lizard broke the Baddest Lizards' curse. He was the team's leader during his time, amassing 135 SPP in 88 games. In several games he dealt three casualties, but in one he killed Ken This?, the Lizards' top recorded kill at the time. He was also the team's oldest player of all time when he was killed. In his final game, the opposing team had to kill him twice in one turn to make sure he stayed dead. At the time of his death, The Eleventh Baddest Lizard was, in Ranked Lizardmen teams:

The Stupidest Lizard proved to be an asset in many occasions. He was among the first Break Tackle sauri on the squad, and showed the Lizards how it worked. He was also one of two of the first Lizards to break 75 SPP. In one game, he managed to to deal 3 injuries against an opposing Lizard team. In that game, he was one of 8 players for the Lizards, and because of his ability the Lizards managed to pull out a tie!

The Fourth Stupidest LizardThe Fourth Stupidest Lizard was on FIRE! In his first 12 games, he earned 50 SPP! That's over 4 SPP per match, and he's only been awarded MVP twice. In one game, The Fourth Stupidest Lizard dealt 4 casualties, including 2 RIPs, and even scored a TD after he caught the ball that one of his victims had dropped. Even though he had the ball on the final turn, he decided one more blitz was required. He KILLED the opponent's DP before scoring. The Fourth Stupidest Lizard was a force to be reckoned with...but eventually aging caught up with him.

At the time of his retirement, the Fourth Angriest Lizard held: most of the Lizards' Hall of Fame positions, several active and all-time Lizardman positions in the Top 10 rankings, and even a Top 10 Active Most Blocks ranking. His ability and courage is the goal of every Saurus the Lizards' ranks and will be sorely missed.
