Fredar Skullcracker finds they relaxment of Blood Bowl just what the doctor ordered (or rather forced to sign on the piece of paper) after years on the battlefield. Blood Bowl has it all, fresh air, green grass and opponents who actually line up against you instead of having to chase them across the landscape. The only thing that is puzzling is what that little pig stomach is doing on the field?

Bofur Grimsson is the typical dwarven Blood Bowl player. The mad look, the piece of today's lunch showing between his teeth, the various scars of battles old. And as with the typical dwarven Blood Bowl player he is homicidal maniac who never knows when to quit. Bofur joined the Athwart Grinders when he found out that you would get to bash your opponents even in peace times, and he's been happy ever after.

Divar Shieldbasher is a natural Blood Bowl player. The swift movements (for a Dwarf), the ability to read the play (11 opponents writhing in pain) and the natural ability to adapt dwarven tactics to his play (Hello, meet my fist) makes him a Blitzer of class. As with Blitzers of yore, his job is to score those things called Touchdowns instead of bashing the opponents. As with dwarves everywhere, he never read that page of the rules.

Thor Thorsson hails from a long line of Thor's. This however doesn't stop him from being a straight-forward kind of Dwarf. Straight forward into the opponents lines. Having walked all the way from the World Edge Mountains he signed up claiming to already have had his practice sessions on the way (including 1 Troll, 14 Orcs, 32 Goblins and 234 Snotlings).

Druin Elfwrecker has been a part of many campaigns against most enemies the dwarves can possibly have. Then he read that he could do it all over again, in what was called "controlled environments" which simply means that you don't have to run that far. A simple dwarven logic, Druin realized that being a lineman is even better, you just stand still and the opponents run at you.

Nedar Hammerfist is true to his name, as many opponents on the Blood Bowl field can attest. Hard hitting, slow running, slow thinking, his career as a Lineman seems both long and promising.

Mangar Orcbane is a veteran of the Orc campaigns and has sent scores of Orcs to the void. As with most Dwarfs, the strain of staying away from familiy and a loving wife was too much, so he got a divorce, travelled half the world and in the end joined the Athwart Grinders to play his favourite sport.

Torvur Skullgrimson is one of those down-to-earth kind of dwarves. Well in fact almost all dwarves are down-to-earth but you don't want to tell them that. Not their fault everyone else are overgrown. Torvur signed up to play for the Athwart Grinders because someone once told him he would get his fifteen minutes of fame. Being a Dwarf he heard what he wanted to hear and was happy to know he would need fifteen Minotaurs to fame, and since they're hard to find in the world, for some reason they seem to gather at these Blood Bowl games, so off he went. He has 12 Minotaurs to go but rather enjoys the rest of the time as well.

Hogun Trollsmasher plays Blood Bowl for one reason, the fans. Where else can you get 80000 thousand fans of all races to shout in unison "Rip the CENSOR of the son of a CENSOR, you CENSOR CENSOR CENSOR Dwarf" and walk away alive afterwards. In those rare moments, Hogun gets misty eyed and feels a little ashamed at all those Trolls he slayed in the mountains. He should have enlisted them so he could have heard the cheers on the Blood Bowl field instead.

Gordar Axewielder plays this game for one reason. Once, just once is he going to manage to sneak his double-edged axe onto the field and wreak havoc. Since the referees always notice he has so far failed to do so. Gordar, fuming as always, calms himself down by wreaking havoc without his axe instead.

With the sudden passing of Thrain Hardfist (even he didn't see the block coming) Duergin Helmhand got the chance to step in as the eleventh dwarf. Wanting desperately to step into the shoes of his predecessor (except for the dying part) Duergin is hard hitting and spits his opponents in the eyes once he's knocked them over. Sadly, he followed his predecessor a little to well and is now suffering a niggling injury, although this gives him some extra time to sign autographs and mingle with the crowd.

Berlak Grunshield is one of the later additions, allowing the dwarves some resting time between the plays. He wovs to set the casualty record of all FUMBBL leagues, not a small feat considering the size of the leagues. That is not a problem for Berlak however who responded with a "I'll just have to hit them harder then" and promptly demonstrated on the reporter.

Ulrik Orcgrinder is one of those lucky few who made it far in life, good grades in school, got a job as an outstanding lawyer in a well respected firm but in the end the stress caught up with him. So he quit, signed up for a season with a minor Blood Bowl team and has now joined the Athwart Grinders with the comments "Some of them Ogres are real tough customers, but dwarf o' dwarf, taking the field is childsplay compared to battling with lawyers".

Bigar Gordgrinder is a recent addition to the Athwart Grinders. This dwarf likes to toy with goblins, scare snotlings up trees and on weekends loves nothing better then to meet up with his friends and go orc bashing. Tall (for a dwarf), handsome (for a dwarf) he is in his prime (for a dwarf) and looking to plant his fist in YOUR face.
