King Iggy looked over the most elite of his warriors. These 11 other dwarves made up his personal guard, the best of the best, The Irongut Blood Bowl squad. The grizzled old Troll Slayer had seen many of his companions miss games, die, or otherwise be disfigured into retirement. Wars had grown fewer in recent years, but King Iggy continued to lead his clan into violent battles. And finally, only a few days ago, King Iggy had lead his warriors to a victory in a tournament competition for the first time, wading through an Undead Horde like they were Snotlings. Before a crowd of 20,000 dwarves, they achieved their greatest victory.

A few days went by and the Dwarves grew restless as they awaited a messenger to deliver their round 2 opponent. The Ironguts had not achieved a victory this great, and the anticipation of their next match was putting them on edge. Finally word came. And the matchup was made. The Ironguts would face off against a Norse squad.

Rumblings of an easy victory began to rumble through the Clan. And when word reached King Iggy, he had to call a meeting. And that's where he stood, at the head of his Army, in front of the thousands of Dwarves in his clan who had gathered to hear the words of their King. "Do not!" he began, his voice booming through the cavern of the massive clan citadel. "Do not, underestimate the Men called Norse."

At once, thousands of dwarf eyes were upon the King, and the clan was in dead silence. The King paced along the dais. When he spoke again, his voice was less imperious, and a bit quieter, though still loud enough that all in attendance could hear. "Surely you have all heard of their coach, a Legend amongst Norse. He has lead his squad to tournament victories. He has lead his squad to victory over our brethren, three times! We have only won a single round, in a single tournament. We have NEVER played a Norse squad. If anything is true, it is that THEY, and not us, should be considered the favorite to win. They have a Legend playing on their squad. I am the best we have, and even I cannot claim to be a Living Legend.

"And the League has determined us to be of greater value. They will have gold, which is more than we can say. Some of our best, may well go to their deaths. Some of you may never come back. I myself may well not return. We are the underdogs, my Clan. Remember that. Now, let's go out there and give them HELL!!!"

The next morning, a messenger was sent to Coach Relezite, and the match was scheduled.

Good luck man, and may Nuffle bless your dice.

In the end, it seems it was only fair the clan considered themselves as favourite :P
