Awful Skills League
Ever want to see a Goblin with Break Tackle? How about a Mummy with Leap?
Ever want to see those players actually participate in games?
Well this is the league for you!
- Only brand-new [L] teams (including Stunty teams) may apply to the group.
- No games can be played other than in round-robin (swiss) style tournaments.
- You may never pick skills for your own players. Instead, after each game, your opponent will pick skills for your players.
- You must honestly disclose all skill rolls to your opponent before they begin making skill selection. You may not collude with your opponent to agree to assign skills favorably to each others' players. Each coach should always strive to assign skills in the most useless way possible under the skill assignment rules (see below).
- Each team is expected to play at least one game every 2 weeks.

I suggest to exclude the skills that dont actually work. Otherwise 1st skill would be Pass block.
I think it is nice to have less frequently used skills, but i would feel very stupid to get a skill with absolutely no use. (This is the reason a wont enter at this point.) So yeah, break tackle is no fun for me at a goblin, but it would look fun on a throw-ra. Not great, but at least minor value.

i agree with bghandras, it's a fun idea but could become boring when the only skill choices you really get are completely useless. couldnt it be more fun to have the skills randomly selected while following similar skill choice guidelines to what we have now.

According to the skill assignment rules, you could not give a 2nd player pass block, unless no other unique skill choices are available.
I don't think it will be an issue.
If agreed, before the season starts, we could agree not to assign skills that don't work yet.

TheBot has a function that randomly selects skills.
Just go to the main channel and type
"bb agility"
for a random agility skill pick. Of course it works for other types of skills too.
By the way bghandras, pass block DOES work. Just one more week...

Joke aside: A potential double, and +30k TV on a goblin with break tackle is only good joke if i dont need to play with it.
I would retire immediately, and buy a fresh new player, and enjoy the inducement against all other fools who keeps those useless players.
I suggest 2 items to make this league work:
- New skill has to be at least minor use
- No inducement. Yes, you read it correctly. Absolutely no inducement. The average skill cost 20k, and it is sometimes oveepriced. now you give skills that are overpriced with even 10k.
If you dont agree, then would you like me to join with an amazon or norse team, and retire and rebuy all players that get a new skill?

The point is to be silly & develop the craziest player.
The goal is not to win games.
In our 1st season we had TheSpoonyBard playing gnomes!
If you want to meta-game, sure you could take norse or dwarves and trample your competition. But that's not the point of the league.
This is not a competitive league. The games are for fun only. And no, you need a legitimate reason to retire a player. For example - St on a BOB, or a niggle on av 7.

We just kicked off division 1.
We currently have 2 other coaches that have applied.
If that number jumps up to 6, we will kick off a division 2.
Otherwise, those coaches will be alternates, in the event that some of the currently scheduled coaches are unable to make 2 games in a row, or otherwise need to leave the league.

But since you seem to have racial restrictions you should clarify what races are available then. Because "no races available" doesn't leave me a lot of options.
