My CD's won the WOC II with only 1 claw in all the team. In fact the team stars are 2 hobgobos.

Assuming the coach is atleast average which you obviously are.
Any developed team can win with a reasonable draw, good play and nice dice. Any developed team with some cpombers can win with any draw, pretty good play and ok dice. It's kinda no brainer, in more ways than one.

You don't have to ClawPoMB to win a major, but it helps. It's the strongest skill combination in the game right now so it can never hurt.
A lot depends on the draw of course. Most coaches nowadays have teams that specialize is a certain type of game (playing vs clawpomb in Box, or built to disregard clawpomb in Ranked) and any team runs the risk of getting drawn vs that race they're most vulnerable against.

Get fend. Elves + fend = clawpomb neutered.
