End of season awards dinner is coming soon, the awards committees have named the finalist for all of the positional awards. One of each three finalists will win the award and go forward to win the overall Heizmenz trophy, rewarding the best player in college football. Remember, prestige points are up for grabs

Butkiks Award – Awarded to the most outstanding Blitzer in the College Seven aside system. Named after their unparalleled ability to kick behind and keep on scoring!

Antoni Cedrum – Cedrum was part of a championship winning side in Bilbali, upsetting the two in a row winners from Broekwater in the final and his ability to continue to bother scoreboards across the college Old World scene is what ultimately put his team there. 25 touchdowns in the regular season for this Panther outstripped all but one other Blitzer in DLE7s. He also backed this up with a hard hitting approach that saw him amass 17 casualties as well. A very very talented player who will send the scouts into hype mode once he moves on.

Kwame Frampton – This guy earns his nomination for solely being the guy who scored more touchdowns than Cedrum! 27 all by himself, dragging the usually close but not quite Hilltoppers to the big time (only missing out to the Merchants in the Semi Final of the play offs). Kwame has been blessed with longevity and ability and had the highest rushing total across the entire league with 356 yds (or 13.5 entire Blood Bowl pitches lined up end to end). He may not see the interest that his peers will attract in the DLE once he retires but he has brought electricity to the Hilltoppers offense this season.

Anthony Gonzalez – The Fort Solace team spent a lot of this season building up their team after some early losses but Anthony shone through in the limited opportunities their season gave them. His extra speed and focus on getting the ball to paydirt secured his nomination on this list and while Antoni and Kwame might be on their way to the pro draft, Anthony should see at least another season in 7s, showing again how impressive his performance is for one so young.

Bilenticatch Award – The most outstanding Catcher in College Sevens is awarded the Biletnicatch Award. One handed diving catches and aggressive defensive play rewarded for those pure athletes who are brave enough to wear half as much armour as anyone else

Griffin Thomas – Everyone loves an underdog and the Wyverns were one of the new teams to the league this year, and just like the Winged Pride, have earned themselves a nomination on this list. Griffin Thomas weathered the storms of lost team mates and team growing pains to always be on the score sheet and always give 100% effort. His 14 touchdowns was team leading but the young Catcher will miss the opening game of Season 7 if he returns to the team due to a Gouged Eye injury picked up in their Bowl Game.

Merlin Malinowski – Merlin epitomises what it is to be a Mountebank… a real pain in the ass. This guy barely left the field, playing 263 snaps (turns, almost double some of his award nomination opponents) over the course of the season. His devil may care attitude has drawn comparisons of the defensive greats who can take away the ball but Merlin paired this with great nose for the endzone. He almost threw nearly 50 blocks which just goes to show the approach he took to the game. A hard nosed player in a position for divas, Merlin moves on to the pros as any coach’s favourite.

Peter Bokor – This Merchant had something to sell us all season and that was unrivalled speed. Bokor had been working on his movement skills all year in training and the Merchants only ever schemed him to positions where this would be of great use. The Merchants primary “Baller” barely played a down on defence but did enough to earn this nomination with 15 touchdowns over 138 turns on the pitch



Nagitski Award - Linemen are important and this is where they get their credit! Who out there are the guys who are working hard to let your Superstars run wild? Find out below

TJ Spitz – Another new team nomination (sort of). The Wharf Rats joined late in season 5 and this is their first full season creating a stir in DLE7s. TJ had one purpose this season and that was to cause havoc. His fervour in his blocking and his attitude to putting the hurt on his opponents is abnormal for a lineman and even though he may have lost control at times, his 10 casualties in just about 100 blocks along with two shock touchdowns has him on this prestigious list.

Chase Beck – the second Hilltopper to make this nomination list but unfortunately the first to make it posthumously. Chase was literally the definition of an all rounder. A lineman who could block, defend, tote the rock and look downfield to find open receiving targets. He led his position group in completed passes, passing yards and rushing yards all before he came to an ignominious end at the hands of a Wharf Rat.

Garth Butcher – Garth started off his career (4 seasons ago!) with the focus on becoming a pain in the backside for opponents and it was on the line of scrimmage he spent most of his days but all of a sudden, this year he had an Indian Summer as his college career came to an end. He found that smashing through armour was easier when you were doing the hitting and racked up 11 casualties in 70 blocks. Where was this guy for the other 3 seasons he was a Mountebank I hear you say? Well you’ll have to ask Garth but he may not answer you as he heads off to the pros.

Spewnitas Award – The best and most accurate Throwers in DLE7s will be honoured with the Johnny Spewnitas Golden Arm Award. Candidates identified for being the player who drags their team along, binding them as a leader and displaying keen athletic and arm talent.

Jay Teague – Another award nomination list, another Wharf Rat. Jay is another Thrower blessed with better than average speed and a very good ability to throw on the run. Having spent the least time on the pitch compared to the other nominees he’s put in a comparable shift with 3 touchdowns and 21 completions, all while carrying the ball over 120 yds for the Rats. He’s the sort of guy you’d love in a pinch situation where you need to move the ball up the field quickly and should see that type of action on DLE in the future.

Tom Horn Jr. – The Teenage Sensations always give us entertaining fantasy football to watch and THJ was a standout for them this season. His newfound speed was used as a base for his long distance throwing of the ball, instead allowing his teammates to walk the ball into the end zone after THJ’s field vision had found the best target. 28 completions and nearly 100 passing yards saw the purest passer in the league rack up the points for his team.

Leopold Berger – There are fears that this list may be populated on sentiment for all the newer teams joining DLE7s this year but ignore that, firstly because these guys deserve their spot on here amongst their peers but also because Leopold is who you should be fearing. Lock up your virgins, this “Vamp” is out to draw first blood on offense. The unmatched physical specimen of Mr Berger saw him rack up the highest Yards per Completion of any thrower and also a respectable 3 touchdowns scored on the ground. This garlic hating Quarterback is drawing in the fans and you should pay attention.

Outland Award – Big, brutish and grumpy, the Ogres have arrived in college 7s. Their mass can give all coaches nightmares but they can also create havoc for their own team! Here’s the cream of the crop.

Juan Cortina – or the guy with a really long nickname. Unfortunately, yet another nomination to a dead player but before his passing Cortina bullied enough opponents AND even carried to ball some on his way to a good year. His time was ended too short and we hope that this recognition of his play will give his family and teammates some solace.

Jean-Amour Fazer – JA Fazer is a repeat nominee from last year and while the league is now filled with talented Ogre’s this guy continued to run at the top of that crop. 21 casualties caused led all Ogres and was only second overall to one other player. JA was on the pitch almost entirely all season, spending 269 turns in front of his fans. His presence has caused everyone problems and helped push the KWW to the play offs once more.

Baro Beno – Another Merchant here and is anyone surprised? The team reached the final and Baro was an imposing force along the way. 12 casualties in 149 blocks but also just an absolute road block to all opponents, game in game out. This guy showed surprisingly good levels of cognisance and attentiveness and for an Ogre that pretty much means you’re elite!
