Well... ok... we pick... but STUNTY?
I was a bit tired of being bashed in the box and really didn't want to be picked in ranked (I'm not enought patient to wait for the perfect match) and I decided to look for some no-brain stunty match

Applied to the gamefinder, find some opponent, and offered to all of those within 400k a match, even immediately after they appeared in the game finder

Well... the stayed... waited, than left...

Really? Are we so competetive that we wait to pick in stunty? STUNTY!!!!

I thought stunty was different...

Sorry for the rant

When i'm on GF I generally have a stunty team and some R teams on there, and will choose the stunty game if I don't find a R game. Maybe they did the same, and just found a different game? Or maybe they played each other? Don't think you can infer too much from going on there once.

I've verified, because I could not belive it... three coaches (one or two stunty each) waited there for more than 10-15 minutes with my offfer active, than left without playing at all. One of them even come back after another 5 minutes, applied and left after another 5.

Well... it's only a rant. I really wanted to take a break from the bad sequence of loss in the box I had these two days (CR from 162 directly to 152 :D), and really wanted a match were I could stop thinking about strategy... but it's probably me... I take this game not enought seriously :D

I believe one of those coaches was me, sorry about that.

I activated all my teams on Gamefinder and wasn't in the mood for Stunty, so went back and changed.

Don't worry mate... if it was only one, I could have thought of a mood affair, or other issues

I've been in the gamefinder for more than 20 minutes, I've seen people come and go, come and go, then I went to see if they were playing and they weren't, and I thought "Wow! They're waiting for the perfect match... like in Ranked... Am I missing something?" and I started this unusefull wasting time rant

Probably I've to apologize, not you ;)

The problem with the gamefinder is that you have to put a lot of teams on it just to see who else is looking for a game.

If people are looking for coaches rather than teams then yes you will have people clogging it up while waiting for someone interesting to arrive.

Play a more interesting team like Fae or Eshin and you won't have to wait long for a game in Stunty. I get sick of the hordes of Gnomes and Cflings on GF (and cookie-cutter-killer Strig teams ain't exactly uncommon either), maybe others feel the same.

I do however see the same thing as you at times, I do think people activate both whilst looking for a ranked game even though they don't really want to play stunty unless there is an interesting match there.

I was probably one of those coaches... It's not a picking thing, that's very dirty in the stunty arena.

With the GLT coming up people (like me) probably always have the stunty team activated but are (like me) trying to get a team in shape for the tourney. I flit between box and doing this atm and end up leaving gamefinder quite often because the multitude of high TV Nurgle are not a good warmup match :P

Persevere and tick everything stunty!

Don't forget that some people are trying to fill the stunty grid. I was looking for a snotling v Horrors matchup last night to complete the line, so I didn't bother with the other options that were there.

The other alternative is that somebody doesn't like you. ;)

@m0gw41
I'm nearly new to stunty (played some match with skyre an year ago)... I took strygoian because it look like funny to see thrall go away one after the other hit by my own team (and that's it, i usually end the drive with no standing thrallings)

Didn't know that strygo wasn't an "interesting" team
Gnome too, it look so fun! I'm planning to give "mail passage" to all four bombers and see the bombs that fall from the sky four each turns... it seems fun!

But WHY these two teams aren't "interesting"? Are they "avoided" like cpombers?

If it's like that, I really thought the spirit of stunty was completely different. I never look at my opponent roster, I simply ask to every stunty team within 300-400k from mine, and see how many players survive the match (and usually lose the match :D)

You Strigoyan team is the Stunty equivalent of a "minmaxed" zons. There's nothing wrong with your team, I would have picked the same skills, but you have 2 massive hitters and all your ghouls have the most important skill in Stunty: Block. And you're still under 1200 TV. My (1600TV now I believe - it changes so fast :D) pygmies would be outbashed for instance.

Again, there's nothing wrong with your team, and I would probably play against them if we were on GF at the same time. But not with a rookie team because I would stand no chance.

I've had this happen to me, as well. I play Chaos Halflings, which I guess is the problem, but still, it's frustrating. When I play Stunty, I want chainsaws and there's only two teams that have them so my options are limited.

@Leilond

They are interesting teams, especially gnomes, which make them the go to team for most newer players to the Leeg. Just means they aren't as interesting to play when you have played them as many times as a lot of Leeg veterans. Plus both teams are fairly bashy brutal teams with killer GS access players (Block-Tackle-MB is the CPOMB of Stunty Leeg) so that won't help with some.

If you like the bombs you may get more games with a horror team, just embrace the crazy playstyle required!

Oh well... if the problem is that people is afraid to be bashed in stunty, I completely get wrong idea of stunty. I've got 14 players in the team, and never end a match with more than 4-5 players on the pitch, 6-7 thralls BH by myself for the bloodlust

Being afraid to be bashed in stunty... wow, didn't think it could happen... I thought the general idea of stunty was to be bashed... every match.

And about horrors... with the wild animal and ST5, I do not think you're going to throw so much bombs with the Firewyrm of Tzeentch, while my idea was that of throwing bombs, a lot of bombs, in the middle of the crowd, with "mail passage", that require P access... Horrors isn't near my idea, absolutely

Well... Now I understand... I'll sumbit my request and wait for someone survive the fear of bashing

@MisterFurious
Chainsaw is terrible... I fear it a lot! But as I said, I usually sumbit a match request against every match that is from -400 to +400 TV from mine, without looking at the roster... thus, I met some every now and then
Posted by Kam on 2015-05-06 14:33:54
It's not a matter of being afraid of the bashing, it's a matter of balance.

Compare your team with this one for instance: https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=797682

1620TV vs 1190TV. Yet, if you take out the eagle (which would be the top priority of any Stunty coach who knows what he's doing), and that's it. There are a couple of ST3/MB, but without Block, they're worthless. You on the other hand have 2 serial killers and several other players with Block, which means even if your opponent takes one or two out, you will still have tools to defend yourself. And you would have 400TV of inducements.

But again, I would play against that team nevertheless. But the "being afraid of bashing" rant make you sound like the coach of a minmaxed Pact team complaining that Ogres 200TV up don't want to play against you.

heheh... I've to be really crappy as stunty coach, because my team record is 3/4/7

Yes, I usually end-up with my opponent very bashed, but also with all my thralls in the casuality box (due to my ghouls blood lust or my opponent blocks) and failing the bloodlust in the final turns because of this.

Pherpas it's me and my crappy coach skill :D
