Ogre Passing Game
My Strong Arm Ogre on this team

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=735322

has made veteran and rolled a double

So should I open up the team's passing game, with Accurate or Pass? Sounds crazy but would be fun if nothing else.

Is block too valuable? I only have 2/6 block ogres right now.
Pro would be a compromise I guess and leave his developement more open.
Sure hands would be useful.

Interested to hear if there are any thrower ogres out there.

I should note: I think snots can make great receivers with catch as they can go anywhere with stunty/titchy. Only their MA lets them down.

Also I find if I put one ogre in the backfield to retrieve, fast opponents often flood the backfield thinking he can't go anywhere. The LOS is dominated, advancement with the main body of ogres is easy and pitching even an unaccurate pass into them sometimes gives enough momentum to roll to the endzone, especially with good use of snot screens.

Sure Hands, to help with pick ups and stop those pesky Strip Ballers

pass also allows re-rolling TTM if I'm not mistaken; this makes a TTM attempt far more reliable (although you still really want a +MA +Agi snot before it's actually reliable)

Good point. And Pass is better than Accurate on a normal pass I think as I'd often to using the turn's reroll on bonehead/gfi/pickup/the catch.

Since you already gave him Strong Arm, might as well get him Pass.

Go for pass, more accurate throws equals more chances to get the snotling in your opponent forehead! Now that is valuable.

Pass will be fun

Pass. Since TTM is always inaccurate, it's more important to be able to reroll the fumble.

WHA???

Pass is certainly the wrong choice, unless you're thinking of some gimmicky TTM thing.

If you want a ball-throwing-ogre, wait until you have one with +AG.

If you're fully committed to ball-throwing, then Accurate is the way to go.

But right now, your backfield-throwing plan is pretty insane. Ogres don't move fast enough, go BH, and what you're talkin about is a Quick/Short pass for a 4+ roll. That's something players should avoid.

I would say Block.

@cameronhawkins

you've made up my mind for me: insane is the way these guys play! Pass it is. Thanks for the responses all.

Pass was the wiser choice. it'll save the rerolls for other important things
Posted by the_Sage on 2013-05-21 13:49:30
pass for TTM.
sure hands for balling
Posted by cameronhawkins on 2013-05-21 13:49:45
err... Whatever, I guess...

If you're looking for the right choice, I'd point out that of the people that responded and said Pass, not a one has ever played Ogres. I do.

If you're looking for the fun choice, then no one but you can ever really make that call.

Hiya cameron

Respect for having a winning ogre record in the box but - you've got what? 25 fumbbl games with ogres under your belt?

If you would like to be schooled i'll lay down the challenge:
Your ranked ogres vs mine. Loser has to fire their best snotling as a forfeit. Feel free get some practice and your TV up first.

***meant in the best possible sportsmanlike way***

oh and loser donates $10 to fumbbl as well so everyone's a winner :)
Posted by PainState on 2013-05-21 16:12:19
Well if you go for the verical pass attack...then the next ogre to roll a doubles gets CATCH!

Wait for +AG before taking skills like Pass.

I had one such Ogre once, he stole the show:
