Mens (and very infrequent non-mens),
It's about that time again when I tug your coattails about tabletop. Sorry, sorry, I know I'm an annoying, broken record. However, There was a blog earlier in the week written by a frustrated coach. He was looking for his local tournament tabletop Blood Bowl fix, but the event he was going to attend was going to use some daft Beach Bowl ruleset, and he was disappointed. He then wasn't aware of the other (more normal) Blood Bowing goodness going on around him.
I'm someone that's always banging on about how we should all be playing more tabletop (oh really?!). The NAF is a wonderful organisation that oversees quality weekend fun, and there really is Blood Bowl going on at a location close enough to you that you can dip your toe in and have a go.
But how to communicate that? How do you know where to begin? Well, in the UK, we have a very useful resource over on TFF, Cribble / Don_Vito maintains a list of upcoming events which I am going to keep updated
here as more events pop up. Knowing that it is effort to visit another website / make an account or whatever (TFF is a barrier to even those of us that are into tabletop, I assure you), I thought I'd copy and paste his fine work on FUMBBL and nudge a few of you into thinking about your local event! All of the links work without a TFF account, I believe.
If you have any interest, questions or general chat about the list, please post in the thread or drop me a PM. I can put you in touch with all of the relevant people, sort you out a lend of minatures, etc. and you can make your Blood Bowling debut! Make 2014 the year you have a go, you'll never look back.
You might be thinking, this is all well and good for the UK, but what about anywhere else? Well, the NAF has a
list of upcoming tournaments, but I have no doubt that regional websites have a more detailed and tailored list for their country. Perhaps a representative from each community could copy / paste on our forum too? I suspect many FUMBBL coaches know where to find tabletop information if they are in the mood to look, but there is nothing like an occasional update nudge to pique a bit of interest. However, if you would like more immediate information about your country and your local BB tournament, drop me a PM, and I'm sure I can sort you out with the right person local to you to speak to.
So then, you're running out of excuses, you Internet nerd! Get yourself onto tabletop, meet some fantastic people. Have a few drinks, win, lose, be merry, and then wonder why you didn't try this tabletop malarkey sooner.
Hugs. x
(Big thanks to Don_Vito / Cribble who's work I've copied pasted at a hundredth of the effort he puts into maintaining the list. If it generates even one more interested coach, job done. :))
