My tabletop league enables us to create new teams with 6 normal skills (20K) included within a budget of around 1600K. Not more than one skill per player. How would you chose those skills on a lizardmen team ?
All Block or all Mighty Blow Sauruses ? A mixed bag of different skills ? Would it be worth it to skill a Skink ?

EDIT : final parameters in...
Budget : $2.100 K, some money can be kept in treasury
Skills : up to 8 basic ($20K) skills, not more than 1 per player |

I'd take guard on the Krox to make him a real pain in the ass when you shove him on a square in plenty of enemy tacklezones. 4 Block Sauri and a tackler Sauri because any agility side is going to have blodgers. |

It takes much more time to skill saurii than skinks, and Agility skills are meh. Sure Feet or Sprint may be ok but you shouldn't rely on that. SS and DT are great when combined, but alone... less so. I'd go all Block on the saurii, or 5 Blocks and 1 MB (or even 4 Blocks, 1 MB, 1 Guard).
That being said, I'm not a pro lizard coach. |

Also a lot depends on season length and if teams carry on or reset at the end of the season. |

Tackle is meh. I mean clearly not bad to have something against dodge, but the opponent will mark it, and it will have zero way to breaktackle free.
I would say a mighty blow would be better option, cause that would give you at least 1 clean shot every turn, no matter marked or unmarked.
With that said I would probably give 5 block, and 1 MB to the Sauri. |

I like a rookie Saurus with Tackle too.
Does this mean that the players with skills start with 6spps and can level up? If so I would take 5 Block on Saurus as the Krox only needs Guard to be good, and it is skipping the chance of a doubles for him.
If there are no other skills ever then same as Endzone and Garion. |

6 normal skills is only 120k. What are you spending the other extra TV on?
I mean:
6 Saurus 480
Krox 140
5 Skinks 300
3 rr 180
Apo 50
Skills 120
Total 1270. 330 left.
Even if you max out on Skinks, you'll have 70k left over, and that would mean not having any space for star players. |

Don't spend it, get a wizard instead if people are daft enough to max out on linemen. |

Answers to questions...
• A new team is ongoing for as many seasons as wanted. Season lenght is 12 games average.
• Yes, if a skill is chosen, the player start with 6 SPP
• Some cash can be kept in bank for future needs (a new krox or a saurus cost and arm and a leg).
• That team will go against 2000K + teams right off the bat...
Thanks for all the helpfull answers !! |

Sounds like 6x block for saurus to make them useful, reliable and skill up faster, krox can hopefully skill up by itself quicker with mighty blow and possible 3d blocks.
xnoelx's 1270k roster looks good. Good thing lizards got great stars.
I would also consider a 4th reroll...perhaps. |

I would go with 5 Block saurus and 1 Frenzy.
Frenzy is roughly as effective as Tackle when Blocking, and greatly opens up the tactical options you have, while narrowing the options of your opponents.
I would also have gone with a Guard Krox, but Jimmy makes a good point about not wanting to miss the skill roll.
Saurus 600
Skinks 240
Krox 140
Rerolls 180
Apo 50
=1,210k
Take the rest in inducements. |

Do inducements really compete with a 50k apo for saurus and krox? Especially if we are talking 700k+ inducements. |

You think the Apo isn't worth it?
A saurus casualty, while rare in low-TV, is pretty nasty, and they're certainly worth saving from death after they have a skill.
Unless you can get Morg and Slibli, I'd say a 50k apo is worth it. |
