I move my Windows bar to the side, rather than the bottom. |

If you right-click the Windows taskbar there will be an option to 'Lock the taskbar'. Uncheck that option and you will be able to drag the taskbar to the side of the screen. |

You can also click in the box above that, where the chat is displayed, and then tab into the box that you type in. |

on my laptop when I use it I have the taskbar locked to a side of the screen rather than the bottom. |

I put the bar on the right side of my screen at home since I have a 32" monitor at 1366x786 |

It does vary depending on OS. I'm on 8.1 Windows and have it set to autohide, Win7 I usually just drag down
