Kick off 1st March
Create teams here!
This is an open league that runs for one calendar month.
The league is open to Secret League (ruleset 303) teams old and new.
Play any team in the league in any order at any time before the deadline. Schedule games in advance if you find that easier.
The league will kick off on the first of the month and run to the last day of the month.
Your team's best SIX consecutive matches count, though each team can play as many as possible before the deadline.
Each coach may enter as many teams as they wish. Spread the teams over different TVs to increase your chances of getting matches.
Win = 4pts, tie = 2pts, defeat = 1pt. (Subject to comments)
Comments are requested for ideas on:
Encouraging coaches to play more games,
Encouraging coaches to use a wider variety of races,
Discouraging picking and dodging.
The league is intended to be fairly laid back. Coaches should not berate or badger other coaches to play.
Playing in the league does NOT prevent you from playing in other leagues and tournaments at the same time.
You may play against teams outside the league, but you will not get points for those games.
So, encourage opponents to join.
Teams cannot join in the last week of competition.

Is the consecutive part required?
Seems to encourage some picking to try and get your 6 easiest matches in a streak. |

Good point. It can be removed depending on what people think.
Taking any 6 games does mean that there are likely to be more teams tied on 6 points at the end of the season.
So, do we have playoffs? Tie breaks will also encourage picking.
People who can only manage 4,5 or 6 games total will have pretty much no chance?
How about bonus points for playing vs high performing teams? Though we don't want people refusing to play teams that don't offer a bonus. |

Make the points based on fans. Highest points will come from high performing teams, but due to the random roll of fans, playing more games is more important than playing high performing teams. |

Are you saying using FF to add to the points? Not sure what you mean? |

No, the gate of the match. You can't just use it, as you need something for wins, but make the baseline based on your opponents fans (which is influenced by fan factor). |

The purpose of using gate is specifically to ensure there's always a reason to keep playing.
In the version I had last considered I had come to the conclusion that gate should be worth gate / 1000 (so on average, 7 from the random part and 9 from ff of a team doing reasonably well).
A win is worth 10 (so it's only worth as much as the FF of a slightly above average team).
By making gate worth that much you make picking completely useless; by making the random factor with that much, you make playing games absolutely important. By making wins still important, the goal is still to win as many games as possible. |

10/5/0 or something in that vicinity.
But like I said that was when I looked into it for a different meta league. Can't say if it's as appropriate for this one. |
