maybe you shouldn't have the 'sucks' suffix but be a bit more open to all sets of views..

Well I certainly wouldn't advise you starting another forum topic. Last time you did that, it turned into 10 pages of 'let's get kenthis', which then got worse when you tried to placate the situation by justifying your views and mindset.

So what do you do when fouling doesnt break armour, ref sends the fouling player off or both ?

well, if I face a multiple cpomb team and there's no chance of winning, I usually try to gang foul with a dirty player. If that sends my player off, it's actually good (!) because there's one less player for the opponent to hit.

fair comment

but ideally u want to go into a game with a decent chance of winning

in this situation no rookie team is going to have dirty player or sneaky git

My advice to minxmax has some time been to start from lower TV. If you start lower TV, minmaxer also has fewer TV to play with.

Start about 910k. Fire linemen and buy positionals, when you get money. Let TV grow when you have got something for the TV, most likely Block, Dodge, Guard or Mighty Blow. Many positionals are too expensive for their TV when they are rookies. Don't buy too many rerolls - try to play with 2, it makes you play better.

@uuni You're right. The way to beat a min/maxer is to min/max harder and dirtier than them.

Clawpomb min/max does suck, Amazon min/max is a lot more effective.

I've thanked harvestmouse personally for his dedication against the clawpombers. I'm going to try and elaborate my reasons for that here.

Some argue: 'Let people enjoy this game in any way they choose'. I can agree with that to some extent - it's just when a few people's idea of fun ruins the fun for everyone else it becomes a problem. The Claw/Piling On/Mighty Blow skill combination is far to efficient at hurting other teams. I used to have fun playing Blackbox; I found that if I just kept my teams' value at 1500k or below I could avoid the worst clawpomb teams and still enjoy the whole concept of not knowing who I'd meet next. I would have preferred to be able to build beyond that, but it was still a fairly good compromise. The extremely min/maxed clawpomb teams ruins the last bit of fun with blackbox; not only are they impossible to avoid, they will absolutely destroy you without having to use hardly any coaching skill at all - just point, click, kill. I've got a wolf with just claw (obviously) and mighty blow, which is too efficient that alone - adding piling on would just be overkill, quite literally. It's so much more fun outplaying an opponent with skill rather than by having much better odds at succeeding with armour and injury rolls.

For those of us who work full time there is often not enough time for more than one game per day - it's simply takes the fun out of the game when you don't stand a chance of winning and also many hours of carefully developing your team goes to waste. That's something that can happen against any team if the dices are bad enough, but with min/maxed clawpombers it's far too inevitable.

One solution would be to put all the clawpomber teams in their own division, but besides the trouble in categorizing the teams it wouldn't work anyway because the clawpomb coaches don't even want to play other clawpomb teams - their idea of fun is to destroy their opponents without any risk of getting hurt themselves.

I'm sorry for my incoherent ramblings. I hope at least some of it made sense.

Yours,
